Part 1: http://theshl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=73505

A shorter Part 2 of my original thread. Hope to clear some things up and continue discussions.

Restructured Head Office
- Elections for four members
- Commissioner appoints 2 more members
- Each member must have a player on separate SHL teams. 3 from each conference. Commissioner's team ineligible
- Will need to be replaced if a member moves to another team breaking previous rule.
- Will boot from HO if I don't think they're contributing/active enough.
- Role: Handle league amendments, interpretations, and punishments(DC)
- Within 3 days a decision must be made.
- Needs at least 4 out of 6 votes to pass/agree on decision
- If tie, I will vote for the tie breaker.
- If 3 or less votes, I will decide.
- All votes will be public. Complete transparency.
- Election rules TBD.

After feedback, I have decided against all of the GM's being in control of every decision. (yes yes, have at it). This new election proposal is based off ideas you guys gave me. I hope that it makes things more fair and even interesting to have elections for people to be place in HO.

Inter-conference Rivalry matches
- Rivalry setting will be put on teams based on playoff results.
- Finalist vs Finalist, 7th place vs 7th place, etc
- Rivalries will be turned off in playoffs
- End of season, we'll combine the records of rival matches and reward the winning conference.
- Reward TBD

A little less significant than HO stuff, but worth sharing and clarifying. Just a small idea to make the season more interesting. If nobody likes it after this season, we can just drop the experiment. JayWhy and I ironed the details and made sure it was possible.

There's many more suggestions/concerns placed in the thread I have not gotten to yet, either because of time or because I think I should wait until there's a full HO. But I hope to address everything asap.

Thanks.

I like that Rivalry status, seems fun!

Can't wait to see the response to LD and EX TPE!!!

How do we go about being nominated for the Head Office Elections?

Not that i have a shot, but then again, they said that about Trump sooooo.

I'll try to think of a rough draft for elections ideas. I want to keep it simple enough so that if somebody drops out midseason it would be fairly quick to replace.

Code:

So this means just 2 rivalry games a season right? Against 1 team from the opposite conference? That's fine.

And no other rivalry games, correct?

That sounds correct to me. Makes sense too.

what if portland and buffalo never make the playoffs, does that mean they won't have rivalry games?

Also why disabled them during playoffs, it gives the most insane and crazy games.

I think it'd be fun to have something like:

Round 1: R5 setting
Round 2: R3 setting
Round 3: R1 setting

Making them crazy in the beginning and anyone can win, and as you go on, the best team truly prevails.

that's exactly why. The outcomes are too random and the games are not a good represenation of the true teams. Basically the rivalry games are won by whichever team gets 12 powerplays and whoever's top players don't get ejected.

They can be entertaining a couple times during the season, but we definitely need to remove them in the playoffs. That should be a time where the best teams can win based on their system, lines, decisions, etc. Not decided by a million pims, fights, ejections.

Also true, and I agree with all of this.

LOVE the new HO idea.

- .bojo - 12-01-2016

The rivals determined by playoff results, similar to how draft positions work. just split the draft order by conference, line them up 1 by 1 with each other, and that would be how the rivals are determined.

It's simpler than I can explain, I promise. Smile)

Thanks so far, guys. Continue with ideas and stuff
