I got nominated for Best GM. The sky is falling

God knows with your player activity level you’ll never have a chance at anything else.

We might have to call off awards to investigate this tbh.

Joking aside doe, bohoes suggestion that GMs(or team representative) nominates 1 or 2 players from the team for each category is a good one, avoids people from being looked over.

Like for breakour star, nomination + last seasons stats.

I mean, it sounds nice, but you'd still have 11 GMs in every category claiming we "overlooked" their guy when he isn't nominated, and 13 when he doesn't win.

I am just one ballot, but I think people drastically underestimate the time I spend working on that one ballot and just assume I overlooked someone if I didn't vote "their" guy. In some of the cases that have been mentioned in this thread, I did vote their guy! I was simply outvoted, and that's fine.

If I were to provide a practical counter-offer, I'd say take your case, GM or otherwise, to the media section each season. I absolutely read through those, just like I combed over the awards discussion in Weekend Funtime this season. Besides, you could also get paid that way, and you wouldn't have GMs saying it's ridiculous they have to do extra work because the Awards team can't do it's job ™.

Or, if nothing else, just PM me. Honestly. I don't bite unless you start the conversation with THE AWARDS COMMITTEE IS LITERALLY CANCER AND HATES MY TEAM. I talked with Wally about both awards and all-star this week and nobody shed a tear. In fact, I enjoyed it a lot, and would enjoy it if more people engaged in that manner.

(Again, all of this is just from one guy, who isn't even head, just the presenter. The others on the committee may feel differently about all of the above)

Yeah, I think people immediately think the entire group was idiots cause they got out voted

I think the problem isn't that they're being overlooked, but rather not being looked at.

When I joined the HoF voting late in the process, most of the votes were done so I based my choices on the people that were selected. But then people brought up some some valid points about some people who were left out, and I think that's just because nobody ever provided a case from neither inside our outside the committee.

I feel like getting some feedback before deciding things (A COMMON THEME I HAD WHILE I WAS SHL'S GLORIOUS LEADER) will always benefit in the long run.
