![]() Hello Canada and welcome to a special TSN SHL Hockey report. First of all we would like to congratulate the Texas Renegades on defeating the New England Wolfpack to win the Challenge Cup! Now back on topic. Lately some rumours have been swirling around the SHL lately about future star goaltender, James Reimer, and his future with the Hamilton Steelhawks. A couple days ago it was released that Hamilton traded a 4th and 5th round pick to have the rights to Joseff Heiss in an attempt to get an advantage in signing the elite goalie. James Reimer made it very clear that he was not going to settle for the back-up position when he was drafted back in season 14 which makes this whole situation interesting. We were able to get James Reimer in for an interview to see what’s going on. James Duthie: Hello James Reimer, long time no see. So let’s get right at this. What’s going on in your head? James Reimer: I’m a little shocked but I’m completely fine with it. I understand how this benefits the team greatly. James Duthie:How does this benefit the team greatly? James Reimer: Well it was set out that season 15 was going to be the year Hamilton guns for the cup hard. The rebuild is supposed to be over now and it’s all about the cup. Heiss is currently a better goalie then me, it’s that simple. He is going to make that team that much better and more competitive. Last year they were 3rd in goals against and that was with Winters in net. Now imagine what it’s going to be like with an elite talent back there. James Duthie: This is true. Has the general managers come out and talked to you about the situation? James Reimer: Yes, management has handled this very well. They gave me a quick text when they first traded for Heiss’s rights. They basically just said it’s not official or anything but we are going after him. We want to make this good for everyone so whatever you need we will do. I just replied telling him I understand but I will want out as the back-up position just won’t cut it for me. James Duthie:So the rumours about you possibly being on the move are true, interesting. Do you want to be traded? James Reimer: I would love to stay in Hamilton. The city is great, the fans are awesome, and most importantly the team is. It’s easily the best locker room to be a part of. It’s going to be hard leaving Hamilton but this is a business and stuff like this happens. James Duthie: Yeah the Hamilton management and even players are very vocal about how active the locker room is. So if this all happens, how do you think it goes down? James Reimer: Well obviously Heiss will sign with Hamilton. All they had to lose asset wise was a 4th and 5th which is pretty good. Then they can trade me for future assets or for more solid players to help make the team a contender. James Duthie: Alright well it was great having you on here and hopefully everything works out well for you. Good luck! ![]() Registered S11, S24, S26, S31 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S42 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered Posting Freak Quote:Originally posted by #prolife@Sep 2 2013, 01:23 PMImpact scum > Falcons scum ![]() ![]() Registered S42 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Taylor@Sep 2 2013, 12:24 PMEWWWW DATS JUST WRONG. ![]() Registered S24 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak ![]() SHL GM Professor of Baldeconomics
