Lauris Prikulis Drafted 11th overall in the S13 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Lauris has been a cornerstone in the Winnipeg franchise being the longest serving Jet on the team and helping lead them to a Challenge Cup victory in S19

Vidrik Onoprienko Drafted 2nd overall in the S17 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Onoprienko has been another cornerstone in the Jets franchise and was named the successor to Alexy Kovalenko’s captaincy during the S21 offseason. Onoprienko has also lived up to the hype of being drafted second overall and is considered one of the best players in the game and also helped lead the Jets to a Challenge Cup victory in S19

Jamers Both Drafted 19th overall in the S17 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Jamers Both is another good veteran on the Jets who has taken on more of a depth scoring role as a result of some of the younger players developing into top six forwards. Both was also a part of the S19 Jets team that won the Challenge Cup.

Jed Hackert Drafted 29th overall in the S20 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Jed Hackert is another young player that was developed in the Jets organization and is tasked with shutting down the oppositions stars playing on the top pairing with Einstein.

Elyk Acquired in a trade in the S21 Offseason for Alexy Kovalenko
Elyk is one of the few players who weren’t drafted by the Jets but instead was acquired via trade from the New England Wolfpack. At the time Elyk was seen as more of just a depth player in the trade but has developed nicely in top a top line winger for the Jets and was named an alternate captain for the Jets prior to his rookie season in S21.

Drew Myers Drafted 3rd overall in the S21 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Myers is the second highest drafted player currently on the Jets roster being drafted third overall in the S21 draft and has not disappointed. He burst onto the SHL scene in S23 and ended up winning Rookie of the Year honours. He continues to develop well and looks to a mainstay on the Jets blue line for many years to come.

Patrik Å atan Drafted 10th overall in the S21 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Å atan was another great draft pick by the Jets GM Leafs4Ever. Satan made his SHL debut in the S22 season and ended up taking home Rookie of the Year honours. Satan has now developed really nicely into a great second line winger who plays a great overall game.

Rob Pressen Drafted 28th overall in the S21 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Pressen was drafted with hopes of potentially developing into a goalie that could be Prikulis’ successor but things have not panned out for him in his SHL career.

Rembrandt Q. Einstein S22 GM Recreate
Einstein is one of the many young defenders on the Jets’ blue line who is progressing well each year and has managed to put up solid numbers while playing the top pairing alongside Jed Hackert.

Big Manious Drafted 27th overall in the S22 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Big Manious is a hard nosed defender that can’t be intimidated. Despite playing on the jets bottom pairing as a rookie he managed to finish top 5 on the team in hits and penalty minutes.

Steve Linkos Drafted 23rd overall in the S22 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Linkos is another one of the young forwards on the Jets who currently plays a depth role for the team but he is progressing well and should eventually turn into a top six forward in the league.

Bryce Collins Drafted 8th overall in the S23 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Collins is another first round draft pick that was developed in the Jets organization and has been developing well over that past few seasons. He began last season in the team’s bottom six but got a chance on the second line last season and he never looked back and enters the S25 season as top six forward.

Mitchell Dambach Drafted 4th overall in the S24 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets
Dambach like many others on the Jets, was a high first round pick. He has yet to make his SHL debut but looks to be slotted in on the teams bottom six so it will be interesting to see how he fairs this season because he had lots of success in the SMJHL.

Taylor McDavid Acquired in a trade in the S24 Offseason for a draft pick
McDavid is one of the best players in SHL history and is on his second tenure with the Jets. He was re-acquired from Texas in a trade where his rights were acquired for a draft pick and he was then signed by the Jets. In his first since back with the Jets he clicked instantly with his teammates and ended up leading the SHL in scoring.

Emīls Vilmenietis Acquired in a trade in the S24 Offseason for Jonathan Kane
Vilmenietis was acquired via trade last offseason to help improve Winnipeg’s offence just that. He posted good numbers by scoring 21 goals and 21 assists while playing on the Jets second line.

Jordan Uptuck Acquired in a trade in the S25 Offseason for Alex Mack
Uptuck was acquired via trade this offseason from Calgary and he has yet to play for the Jets but is as it stands right now he is expected to make his SHL debut for the Jets on the bottom pairing.

Tyler Stropko Acquired in a trade in the S25 Offseason for Zanis Zarins
Just like Uptuck, Stropko was acquired via trade this offseason from the Hamilton Steelhawks and he will be making his Jets debut this season while playing on the bottom pairing alongside Tyler Stropko.

Analysis:
The Winnipeg Jets are a team that likes to grow their talent from within rather than looking to land the big ticket in free agency or pull off the big trade. As a matter of fact 11 of Winnipeg’s 17 members on their roster have been drafted and developed in their system. This strategy has seemed to work well for them as they have managed to retain pretty much all of their key draft picks when it comes time for them to re-sign. Only five of Winnipeg’s 17 members have been acquired via trade with the one other member being a GM recreate.
