Terrance Nova could have followed the ways of a lot of players in the SHL and joined a weaker team for more playing time or fame. But the opportunity to grow with his home team, potentially become a leader in the future and bring some gold medals home must have been more appealing.

"We are playing well, we just need to regroup and keep play with confidence and things will start clicking."

Nova knows his role on Team USA and went into his second tournament playing the same 4th line after getting knocked out from the Bronze Medal game."I want to do something special on this squad." he said after completing his rookie season on the Minnesota Chiefs.

Czechoslovakia, Finland, Russia, Lativa, Austria are the teams in the pool they are placed. They are pretty elite teams, but USA could give them all a run for their money.

Sterling Knight, Chuck Goody from last tournament are gone. But the veterans like Luke Fleming and Geoffrey Allen are still on the team as they have been for a while now. Those guys look hungry in the tournament after the disappointing seasons they each had with their respected SHL teams.

"The chance I have to be out there with those guys and be the energy player, the player off the bench and help out in anyway, I love it." Nova said. "I just want to enjoy the offseason have fun out there and get a gold medal."

Nova was just a Team USA prospect watching from the bench as the team celebrated gold two offseasons ago. He is a stronger and more matured player today and hopes to make an impact. The first liner on the Chiefs will be determined to take advantage to weaken opponents' depth lines playing on the bottom six

“This is not going to be easy,” Nova said. “You can’t expect that because we’re the best players in the world, we’re going to win the gold medal. We should win the gold medal, but we have to work hard for it every night.

Nathan Russell, Luke Fleming, Geoffrey Allen, Alex Mac, Tim Buckner, Evandrus Jesster, Jason Visser, Rick James, Joe Kurczewski, Chris Crutchfield, Jack Burton, Barney Stinson, Scott Robertson and Earnest Ciarelli are among the players out there tonight who were on that Season 31 gold medal team. The rest are young players; John Langabeer Michael Walker, Danny Foster, Alexis Metzler and his former Detroit Falcon's teammate Terrance Nova will look to become the core of Team USA in their promising future.

Nova calls this "a new era of hockey." He said this is 2nd of many tournament with this team.

"The team will gel" Team USA GM said. "They're very skilled players. Everyone has something special and distinct about them here. This will be a very similar team from the past couple seasons and looks capable of being a dominant team like before because of the versatility.

The GM emphasized on "versatility" being team’s strongest point. “We have guys that can play multiple positions,” he said. “We have a lot of depth. We have a lot of skill, strength and physicality. If you look at the history of Team USA, very few teams have the same amount of talent in every positions as this one has. We should be very strong defensively, and maybe one of the strongest.”
