Welcome to the 2nd team of this team highlight ELO/Played Against article, and this time it is the Montreal Patriotes. The Montreal Patriotes joined during the S59 of the SHL, so we will have the data from S59 until S81.

First off for the rules, you can see those in the Seattle Argonauts, that one and all other previous ones (but currently none other exist yet), can be found at the bottom of this article.

So looking at general stats for the Montreal Patriotes, in total the Patriotes have played 1688 games, winning 650, losing 954, and losing the other 84 after overtime. In these matches they got 5495 goals, 7352 against, and 1384 total points. Compared to the other team done so far (Seattle Argonauts) the Montreal Patriotes come pretty close in average goals with 3.25 compared to 3.63 a match, however in all other data the Seattle Argonauts have done a lot better with the Patriotes only getting 0.82 points per game, and conceding 4.36 goals per game.

Looking at the performances from the Patriotes against other teams, we can see their best opponent is the Hamilton Steelhawks (1.04 points), followed by the Minnesota Monarchs (1.02), Manhattan Rage (0.95), Baltimore Platoon (0.93), Seattle Argonauts (0.91), New Orleans Specters (0.88) and Chicago Syndicate (0.88), Toronto North Stars (0.88), New England Wolfpack (0.82), Calgary Dragons (0.82), Winnipeg Aurora (0.81), Texas Renegades (0.79), Tampa Bay Barracuda (0.74), Buffalo Stampede (0.74), Edmonton Blizzard (), San Francisco Pride (0.73), Los Angeles Panthers (0.64), Philadelphia Forge (0.62), and finally Atlanta Inferno (0.56) being the worst team for the Patriotes to face. You can see all of the specific stats in the data below:

Now onto the chart of the teams between comparison, which has some similarities to the Seattle Argonauts ones. Both teams have the Atlanta Inferno as the 19th best opponent, and the Winnipeg Aurora as the 11th best opponent. The table below is once again the team on the horizontal axis, and the opponents on a vertical axis.

Now onto the ELO ranking, with the Montreal Patriotes only joining in S60, it means they don’t have an ELO for the first 7 seasons. Once again we see a pretty bad first season, going down to 1071.69 ELO. Then another couple of decreases to eventually 831.34 ELO in season 63, before a couple turbulent seasons in S64 and S65 before going up to great height, gaining 388.55 ELO in season 66, and eventually hitting a high of 1428.29 ELO in S69. The Montreal Patriotes stayed around this TPE all the way to S72, where in S73 513.22 ELO was lost, and that wasn’t the end, as the Montreal Patriotes fell down to 548.48 ELO in S75. Since then there have been increases to eventually ending up on 1174.95 ELO in S81 which is the final season.

In the top ELO we can see that the Montreal Patriotes fits into the current 2nd spot, having 170ish ELO less than the Seattle Argonauts.

For the bottom ELO, we do see Montreal Patriotes taking the first place, having the lowest ELO so far with 548.48 in season 75, which is the same season as the worst ELO of the Seattle Argonauts.

For the biggest rise we see the Montreal Patriotes taking the 1st place, getting 388.55 ELO in season 66, taking them from 880.76 ELO to 1269.31 ELO.

For the biggest Fall we also see the Montreal Patriotes taking the 1st place, losing a massive 513.22 ELO in season 73 falling from 1426.52 ELO to 913.3 ELO.

Finally for the early ELO, we see that the Montreal Patriotes are currently around 150 ELO behind the Seattle Argonauts.

Really finally this time, the ELO graph. Funnily enough the Montreal Patriotes have pretty similar lines to the Seattle Argonauts, although a bit more heavy rises/falls. This probably shows that both teams might be on the same plan of when to tank/rebuild, and when to try and compete.
