King tut had been rather quiet after the Falcons collapsed after being up 3-1 in the series and falling the next 3 to lose the series. Today however he decided to address the media and there were lots of questions. The first one he expected it came as no surprise.
![]() Tut: Obviously I'm disappointed I felt we played our hearts out the first 4 games to build that kind of lead but we got to cocky out there and collapsed. As for whose fault it is I can point fingers all I want but at the end of the day it's on me I wore the C on my chest and I didn't rally the troops enough if I was better on and off the ice we would be talking about the cup. I failed the city of Detroit and my teammates but out of defeat comes a great lesson and I can ensure that wont happen again I will play my hardest every series with my new lesson no lead is safe. ![]() Tut: I feel we ice a strong enough team to make the top 4 Manhattan and Minnesota are in full rebuild which means as long as we can gather more wins than them we should be a playoff team. Obviously I feel there's more pieces to be added before we become contenders but as long as our young guys keep improving and our vets help out I feel we have a very solid core to build around and in a few years I see us competing with the likes of the Steelhawks, Blizzard etc. ![]() Tut: I handle it the same way I did in juniors you have to check your ego at the door ya I have a bit of an ego sometimes but I likes guys like Merica I recognize it takes a team not an individual to win a cup and become the best. As long as I remember it's a team sport and I play my heart out each and every shift stay vocal in the lockerroom and keep working hard I see no reason why I can't be the guy they build around. I'm a guy whose willing to take the back seat to players if they perform better than me and acknowledge my teammates for there hard work as well. It's part of the reason I wore the C in Detroit the last two season. ![]() I think it comes down too two guys Jackson Turksa and Urijah Winnfield. Turksa is a veteran leader who wore the C in Minny for a few seasons and will be counted out to be a big part of our leadership core even if he doesn't wear a letter he will be a huge help on an off the ice as a vet on a young team. Winnfield will ultimately decide where we finish this season he got to remain calm and focused were a young team against the best players in the SHL it won't be easy for him some nights but as long as he shakes it off and keeps working hard he could be mentioned in the same breathe as guys like Mcbride Jesster etc when his career is said and done. ![]() Tut: Well to answer part one of that question I bet you in a few years those guys will regret they jumped ship were adding good solid pieces to our young core I feel in a few seasons we have a legit shot aslong as we stay course and have some smart trades well be a contender and those players will want back in. As for the second part I feel this tams had some real shitty luck as of late and I feel players showing commitment too it will openly make it a more attractive market once again to FA and draftees alike were an active fun group that's only got one direction to go and that it is up.
