PT 7: MVP
#31

Finn Krüger has to be the frontrunner for the Raymond Lindsey as the league MVP. As a defenseman, he is 5th in scoring, with 15 goals, 30 assists, for 45 points. This ties with Angelo Odjick, who also has 45 points. He's in the top 10 in shot blocks, and is +5. Overall, Krüger is a very effective defenseman. He leads all defensemen in goals and points. When a defenseman can put up goals and offense the way that Krüger can, they are an invaluable asset for their team. It's like having another forward, except this forward plays 25 minutes a night and keeps the other team from scoring, all while putting up offense himself. He has the ability to quarterback the power play for the Mammoths, as well as sustained zone time at even strength. He's the sort of offensive defenseman that can score and not be a defensive liability. On the contrary, he is a defensive blessing to the Mammoths squad. Off ice, he is a very active leader in the Mammoths locker room, and he is very good part of the veteran group in the Mammoths' locker room. It is these qualities and abilities, as well as his on-ice performance, that should lead to him winning the MVP.

When it comes to the Raymond Lindsey award. I believe there are a ton of tough choices. However, at the end of the day, I think the two most worthy candidates are Finn Kruger, and Matthew Auston. Matthew Auston leads the league in points at 48. Although that isn't much to last season's set of point holders where Leafer Reilly had up to 65, it still is an amazing amount in a much improved league in defense, and outstanding plays from goalies. Matthew Auston from personal memory was a very difficult player to play against whenever facing St. Louis. His speed is incredible and makes him very hard to catch. There are a lot of elements to his game that makes him worthy of the Raymond Lindsey, but there is one more candidate.

The next option is Finn Kruger. This beautiful bastard for Colorado was riding PPG for a good chunk until everyone, but him on his team fell off the cliff into shit because they couldn't gang bang Halifax anymore. This man was fantastic for Colorado and was the Erik Karlsson of the SMJHL. He had 15 goals and 30 assists for 45 points as a defenseman. This is a god amongst men and his name is not Braun Strowman.

Mattew Auston and Finn Kruger will both be terrific in the future of the SHL (unless they get killed and can no longer update their player). However, when it comes down to it, I think the winner should go to

FINN KRUGER
