Good day to you, Simulation Hockey League aficionados, and welcome to the third issue of Rising Tide, the place to find recaps, interviews, and news about your San Diego Tide.

I wish this issue could begin with some better news, but the Tidal enter the final day of the sim week on a six game losing streak, but have heart ye faithful Tidal Ti-hards, because the mood in the locker room is one of resurgence. Does not the tide rise and fall? This San Diego squad may be at low tide, but they are positive that they can turn it around.

The first game of the sim was by far the closest. The San Diego Tidal took the fight to the third period, after relinquishing an early lead, to fall to the Great Falls Grizzlies four to three. Goalies on both teams were peppered with shots as skaters put up an incredible ninety-five shots on goal, with the Grizzlies having the edge fifty-five to forty. Emiliano L. Hefe did his best to redeem his poor performance the sim before, scoring two of the Tidal’s three goals, with three blocked shots, five hits, and a putrid five giveaways. He really needs to shore that part of his game up.

In a game of deja vu, the Colorado Raptors found shutting out our beloved Tide Pods so fun they repeated the performance with a six to nil victory. Shots were even this game, and low compared to the game before, with the Raptors having the edge thirty-three to thirty. I am sure this is a game that Scalice will want back as they had a sub eight hundred save percentage. But that is how the sim rolls sometimes. L. Hefe is also going to have to have a short memory as he was a minus-two and there was nothing positive to speak of during this tilt for the young Tide Pod

The final game against the St. Louis Scarecrows, who had a field day on the score sheet, putting up nine goals to the Tidal’s three. This game was another shoot out with a hundred and four shots on goal recorded. The Scarecrows’ had the lead with fifty-six shots to the Tidals forty-eight. Both teams combined for a decent twenty-four penalty minutes, with the Tidal accruing fourteen to the Scarecrows’ten. L. Hefe had an assist but was a minus-three, though he had no giveaways surprisingly, and won two of three face-offs. Pizza and Scalice will want to burn this game from their memory, though they can’t be blamed for the volume of shots being thrown their way.

The Tidal finish the sim five and seven with their momentum ice cold. Luckily they have a chance to redeem themselves Friday.

Emiliano was asked to comment on the losses and he replied, “doesn’t matter how much I score if we can’t keep the puck out of our own net.” True words from the fiery forward.

Until next time, Ti-hards.
