For the S82 SMJHL draft St. Louis selected four players. In this deep dive we're going to take a closer look at their season so far. These four have all been put together on St. Louis' third line this season and the journey so far has been one that is definitely paying off as the Scarecrows sit in first place as of the time of this writing.
First on defense Rondellus-Ringo Raamat. Their season so far has been fantastic and he has been helping this third line be effective and more importantly not be a liability on the ice. So far this season Raamat has scored nine goals adding eighteen assists for 27 points in 44 games. Perhaps more importantly he's showed a willingness to put his body on the line having blocked 34 shots and thrown 83 hits. He's even managed to win a faceoff when called upon once. It's not every day you see defensemen taking a faceoff let alone winning it. Raamat is really proving to be perhaps the most important part of the rookie 3rd liners and he's not being talked about nearly enough. He's surely going to be highly touted going in to the S83 SHL draft. Next up is winger Jordin FourFour III. One third of what I have nicknamed the TRIPLE TOWERS Jordin is a big six foot five winger. He's also shown a willingness to use his size to his advantage having thrown 119 hits. This season FourFour leads the third line in scoring so far having piled up 27 assists to go with 8 goals for 35 points. Jordin continues to pile up points and drive the scoring of the third line. Our second of the Triple Towers is winger Shio Corin. Shio is six foot four and the smallest of the towers but still uses his size to his advantage throwing 126 hits this season. Shio got off to a slow start while starting the season at center which is not his natural position. However, after being switched back to wing his scoring took off in the second week of the season. Shio has thirteen goals and sixteen assists for 29 points. Hopes for the second overall pick is that the scoring continues to go up as he grows in to his role on the wing. The biggest of the Triple Towers is hulking six foot eleven center Mid Knight. Knight doesn't play as physical as his linemates despite his size as he only has 75 hits on the season. Knight started the season on the wing as the coaching staff thought he might not be quite ready to play center. However, Knight put his head down and trained harder and was able to take his natural center position back to start the second week of the season. Interestingly, Knight also has an identical stat line as Shio. Thirteen goals and sixteen assists for 29 points. The thought is that it might take a little bit for Knight and Shio to readjust to their positions but they should take off once they do. (573 words) As the kids in St. Louis continue to develop it's worth keeping an eye on them. Already finding success as a third line this season there is potential for them to continue to move up the line-up as a unit and keep the chemistry together. St. Louis might have found a way to be a contender for years to come. ![]() ![]() ![]() Deep Dives Head Deep Dives CO
