S81 Colorado Raptors Awards

Wow look who it is again! I'm really on a run with my media here as of late.

Unfortunately after talking to Fishy and Jumbo they were less than enthusiastic about letting the Jaybait awards become the official ones (even though they clearly superior). So here I am, presenting the real awards now. However, hopefully one day the Jaybait awards will actually become the real deal. Just to try and convince Fishy and Jumbo really hard.

The Troy McClure Troyphy - Awarded to the player that best exemplifies team leadership

Winner: Tiny Princess @DarthDaevin

TP/Daevin have been an absolute force on the Dinos on and off the ice and was recently named captain for the second season in a row! Ever since being drafted in S79 he’s been a very welcome addition to the team and our locker room!

The Alexander Zajac Trophy - Awarded to the most dedicated player

Winner: Normand Marineau @jason97

First of all congrats to Marineau for playing out a successful career on the Raptors, best of luck in the SHL. Jason also has been a huge addition to our locker room and has helped out consistently with posting sim stat lines and box scores too, real cool to have a GM from the S30s playing with us again.

The Lord Raiden Trophy - Awarded to the top two-way forward

Winner: Sevrin Quinn @Sevrin

In his sophomore season Sevrin Quinn scored 19 goals with 41 points centering the 2nd line, playing around 19 minutes a night, as well as getting second unit penalty kill time. He was no slouch defensively, with 86 blocks and an excellent 61% faceoffs win rate. Quinn also made his presence known all over the ice laying in 68 hits as well as taking away 53 pucks for an overall 1.13 TA/GA, leading all Colorado forwards.

The Bo Kane Trophy - Awarded to the top offensive forward

Winner: Normand Marineau

Normand Marineau's final Raptor season ended off with a bang as he eclipsed the point-per-game marker with 74 points, a new career high. 28 goals and 46 assists also led the team overall. Marineau played the second-most minutes among forwards, getting crucial time at even strength and the power play. His demonstrated elite offensive instincts with 25 points on the man advantage, which also topped all Raptors.

The Kristoffer Ruud Trophy - Awarded to the top defenseman

Winner: Tiny Princess

Tiny Princess' season was a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the ice. Playing the most minutes out of all Raptors, Princess was all over the place, tasked with tough minutes at both 5 on 5 and special teams. Season highlights include 51 points quarterbacking the offense, as well blocking 231 shots on defense, a real warrior there. He put up a valiant effort, and by and large the best showing from a defenseman, despite some Raptors struggles this year.

The Aleksandr Aleksandrov Trophy - Awarded to the top goaltender

Winner: Meowlnir Kittenson @Andy

Starter Meowlnir Kittenson backstopped the Raptor net 51 times and earned a 71 game rating, one of the tops in the league. Although a 3.85 GAA was higher than usual, he still managed a .900 SV% in those showings. Kittenson recorded one shutout all season, but helped keep the Raptors close in many games as well.

The Cassius Darrow Trophy - Awarded to the most outstanding rookie

Winner: Wilheim Seider @LordBirdman

Drafted 10th overall in the 1st round, Wilheim Seider made a strong first impression in his rookie season. Right off the get go he earned a spot on the 2nd line coming off training camp and put up very respectful numbers playing alongside some more experienced vets. He got 16 goals, 28 assists and 44 points, and chipped in on both special teams units.

The Zinaida Titova Trophy - Awarded to the seasonal MVP

Winner: Normand Marineau

The Raptors had a down year, and coming off a finals appearance only two seasons ago S81 was likely a transition season for them. However, not to diminish Marineau's efforts at all, his 74-point season won't go unnoticed here today. He was the offensive dynamo for the team and earns a well-deserved MVP.

The Scottey Crawfling Trophy - Awarded to the playoffs MVP

Winner: Sevrin Quinn

In the playoffs the Raptors were eliminated by the Tidal in 5 games, but in that small sample size Sevrin Quinn stood out as the team's MVP. He scored 4 goals and got 1 assist, while continuing to carry his steady two-way play to put uup great defensive metrics in the playoffs as well.

Go Rappers and congrats all!
