just to make sure we do this right ill post what i asked too, so you may have already seen this haha sorry :D

Asked by me answered by Schewbacca

AH: How do you feel about going to Colorado? Both the team, and location?

A Colorado kid being drafted by his home team, I was as giddy as a school girl when I heard that the Mammoth drafted me. There is just no better feeling than being drafted by the team grew up watching. The team itself doesn't look too bad either. I heard that they are putting us on the same pairing line and that there are whispers around the league that they are calling us the super sexy saucy line...? How about that?

AH:Do you plan on moving on to the SHL as quickly as possible or are you thinking of hanging down in the SMJHL for the full experience?

Right now I'm not even thinking about the SHL. I want learn as much as I can from the veterans and develop as much as I can before I even start thinking of the SHL. Once I establish myself as one of the better two way defenders in the SMJHL, will I then think about jumping leagues. If it takes me 5 seasons in the SMJHL to develop into that player, so be it.

AH:Does pineapple belong on pizza?

Tropical fruit on pizza is an abomination. An insult to the savoury goodness that pizza is and it's a disgrace to ones family if you order it... That's what my dad told me before he brought out the belt. flinches

I asked <a href='index.php?showuser=2632' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>CaptainCats</a> questions:
1. How much playing time do you expect?
I get that I’m not the top winger on the team right now. I am hoping the coaches can give me 10-12 minutes to start. By the end of the year I hope I can earn closer to 18 minutes a night.

2. What would you call your play style?
I try to model my play style after Todd Bertuzzi (minus the on-ice assault), I’m not afraid to go into the corners and get my nose dirty.

3. Where do you see yourself fitting in?
I will fit in wherever the coach wants to put me. I’m always willing to do what’s best for the team.

4. Do you see yourself playing for your country?
I’d love to get the chance one day! If I’m lucky I’ll play alongside Kaapo Kekkonen.

5. How will the Militia do this year?
Well when you look at last year we finished 2nd in the regular season before falling short in the playoffs, and we have a good group of rookies so I don’t think I’m being unrealistic when I say we shouldn’t settle for less than winning the league this year.

And he asked Dakota questions:
1. What is your pregame meal?
"Pregame is all about carbs, so I like a box of mini powdered donuts and a half bottle of Malort."

2. What part of your game needs the most work that you hope to improve in the SMJHL?
"Probably my scoring. Hits are a dime a dozen for me in any given game, but I can always handle scoring more goals."

3. If you could pick a superpower what would it be?
"Domino's power from the X-Men. The ability to bend and affect luck or chance could change anything in a game."
(Real life: Shapeshifting, Mystique style. I may or may not have body image issues. Also, Marvel is best.)

4. Which holiday is your favorite and why?
"Boxing Day. Good presents, good football. Much more fun than Christmas itself."

First, bluesfan55 was kind enough to ask me some well thought out questions:

1. What are your goals for this season?

I hope to bring a solid, stout defensive presence to my team, with the ability to also assist the forwards with a strong effective passing technique.

2. How do you like your team? Are there any teammates you especially think are awesome?

I thought being a rookie would be more difficult, but erevyone on my team has been incredibly supportive and friendly, and I think using teamwork that starts that strong as early as it has can fuel us into an elite team quickly. As who my favorite is, i think it's important to like everyone equally. That said, it's easily Fletcher.

3. What's your favorite off-ice activity?

I'm a big fan of trout fishing, always has been. The peace you get out on the river by yourself, it's unrivaled.

Second, I was able to ask him some questions in kind:

1. Seeing how each team picked this draft season, and where you went overall, are you happy with how it all went down to get where you are now?

Yeah I definitely am. St. Louis was the team I wanted to go to, and I went there. Plus, I was expecting to be chosen in the 7th round at least so being chosen 40th was awesome. It's a standard that I'm going to work hard to live up to.

2. It's game day, what's your routine or superstition that you seem to always need to follow to feel like you're ready to go?

I always listen to some music before to pump me up, and I also eat some pizza before, I like to have carbohydrates before a game because I think it'll make me perform better.

3. Lets say, hypothetically, that you're down several goals in a game going into the second intermission. What would you say or do to get yourself, and your teammates, back on the ice in the third period with the right mindset?

I'd say something empowering motivational on the terms of "Guys, we're playing hard, but somehow were still losing. Let's get back on the ice with a fresh mindset of defensive play and scoring on the counter attack! LET'S DO THIS!"

Hopefully we've all learned some things about Joseph Lombardi & Cloud McCarthy!

1. What kind of skills does your player bring to Detroit, and what kind of players do you think you would play well on a line with?
I think I bring a two way game, still much to work on, I'm glad I'm on a team that cares about my development. I would play well with most types, but i love to play with defensive minded individuals.

2. Who is your NHL idle? SHL?
My NHL idle is Victor Hedman. My SHL idol is VIJANUPATAN SINGH.

3. What are you looking forward to most this season?
I'm looking forward to being in my first season as a SJHL player, developing my skills, and clapping bombs, fucking moms, and fucking celly'ing with the boys, fuck.

<a href='index.php?showuser=2700' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Kmarko</a>
1. What are your expectations for yourself this coming season?
I just want to focus on improving my skills so I can be a top 6 forward next season. Its also nice to have some depth to your team though, so hopefully this Falcons 3rd line can keep up with the 2nd line point wise. We certainly have the potential to.

2. What NHL player would you compare yourself as?
Marian Hossa. I definitely don't have his stick handling, but I've always admired his 2 way game and passing ability, which I model my game after.

3. If you have any, what is your pre game ritual?
I crack open a cold one with the boys

Seth Paige (<a href='index.php?showuser=1336' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Šatan</a>) asks Dionyz Vyskoc (<a href='index.php?showuser=1119' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>artermis</a>):

1. What are your goals for the season ahead?
At the risk of sounding too cocky, my performance at the prospect showcase has emboldened me: I'd like to believe I have a shot at winning the rookie scoring race and/or the rookie of the year award. If not a winner, I believe I can be a close second or an honorable mention of sorts. I've shown I can hold my own against my draft mates, save for my playoff point drought, but we'll see, there's plenty of games ahead of us!

2. What are your pregame rituals?
This was one of the first questions I received when I first landed down in North America. I don't what it is with you guys and your superstitions! All I do consistently before a game besides dressing and warming-up is call my father; he always has some insightful comments or some inspiring words for me. Sometimes, when he watches my games, he even has some tips or tricks I genuinely didn't know about and something to improve my game. It's crazy what he picked up in his time in the big leagues.

3. How important is IIHF play to you? What do you bring to team Czechoslovakia?
I'm a little estranged from my home country, since I travel a lot, but I'm excited to meet my possible teammates in future competitions. Many of them are from around the world, so I hope that'll broaden my cultural intellect. All-in-all, I'd love to make my family and my friends back home happy by donning a Team Czech jersey, a team my father used to play for and even run. A medal would be even better. I bring healthy attitude to any locker room I may be a part of; whether or not that decided if I'm chosen, I don't know, but perhaps my name and number will get the head office a little nostalgic and want to play me. I just hope I can be a presence on the ice.

Dionyz Vyskoc (<a href='index.php?showuser=1119' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>artermis</a>) asks Seth Paige (<a href='index.php?showuser=1336' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Šatan</a>):

1. Before the draft, where did you see yourself going? How did that turn out?:

I guess it's a bit of a mixed bag there. On the one hand, I think I had the talent to get picked a bit higher. I was hoping for Top 16 and I slipped to the fourth round, which was a little disheartening. On the other hand, I was really hoping to play for St. Louis, so landing there was a big win for me. Slipping will just be extra motivation for me to work harder and prove the GMs wrong, but I'd much rather be playing for a team I love than one I have mixed feelings about. So it all worked out in the end.

2. Would you like to make any bold predictions for yourself in the upcoming season or at least any guesses?

It's a bit of a homer pick but I think the Scarecrows have what it takes to win the 4-Star Cup this year, and I think I could be a big part of that. I don't think I will be able to reach any huge offensive milestones, but I've got some defensive goals to work towards. I'm hoping to chip in on the penalty kill and earn the coach's trust enough to play in critical situations. But the biggest thing is really taking advantage of my size and being a big physical presence. I'll be happy with myself if, by the end of the season, guys start to wince when they see me coming. I'd like to average something like 2 or 3 hits and 1 or more blocked shots a game, with a couple goals and maybe a dozen assists.

3. Would you rather be a forward with no offensive ability, a defender with no defensive ability or a goalie who can score, hit and can block shots like a defender . . . but is swiss cheese when it comes to a more traditional goalie approach?

I think the forward with no offensive ability would probably be the least useless, so I guess I'd pick that. If I was good enough away from the puck I could probably still carve out a career as a shutdown, bottom-six kind of guy.

First, Ben Turska (Banjo) asked Dominik Tretiak (<a href='index.php?showuser=1105' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Molholt</a>) some questions.

1. How do you believe you can contribute to a heavily favorited St. Louis Scarecrows team?

I'm ready to learn. This team is setup in position to be pretty great without me, so I consider it a great opportunity to come in and hone my craft and learn what it takes to be a winner in this league. There is no debating it, I'm going to be coming off the bench for St. Louis, so I need to focus my attention on improving myself and absorbing everything I can from the starter while he is here. This is a great way for me to ease myself into the role and into the league and I think it'll work out well. I hope to contribute by providing a good example for others, hard work and determination will be good qualities for a championship caliber team!

2. What aspects of your game are you looking to improve on during your time in the SMJHL?

Frankly, my entire game needs work - my skills are very raw for this league, I'm acutely aware of that. I really want to be bigger in net though, utilize my frame to its fullest potential and take up a lot of space. I'm a smaller guy, but I pride myself on playing like a much bigger guy in net. I'll need to keep refining that ability if I want to succeed at this level.

3. How has life in St. Louis been for you? Does it feel familiar, or completely foreign?

Its... it feels strangely familiar, although I can't place exactly why. It feels like I've been here before, or like I've been here all along - it feels like home. I think I'll fit in great here and I think my time is going to be well spent developing with the Scarecrows. The organization is already taking great care of me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then, Dominik Tretiak (<a href='index.php?showuser=1105' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Molholt</a>) asked Ben Turska (Banjo) some questions.

1. Turska. What does it mean to have that last name, and the history it carries with it, on the back of your jersey?

It is hard to put it into words some times just how much this name means to me. I understand the history the name has had in the league, and specifically with the Minnesota Chiefs. My father has expressed just how much it means to him that I am playing in the league, without even playing a regular season game in the SMJHL. That right there shows how proud he is, and I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that the Turska name is once again well-respected in the SHL.

2. Who is the key to the Militia being successful? Why?

It's a generic answer, but I believe the biggest key to the Militia's success is goaltender Thaddeus Prince. He had an excellent preseason, and I believe that he will be able to bring the same success to the regular season. It is so important to have a top goaltender to be successful in a league like this, and I firmly believe we have the best one. Of course, there are so many other keys on this team I could go in depth with but since I had to pick one, I will stick with Prince.

3. What elements of an SHL team are important to you when it comes to draft time?

I would say the most important thing for me is knowing that the team has a good locker room culture. It can be challenging to stay motivated and keep up a winning attitude when no one else around you feels the same way. Of course, winning is always nice but that does not even come close to my desire to play for a team with solid guys who all want to engage in conversation off the ice, and have a winning desire on the ice.
