As the first year has finally come winding down to a close and after a difficult year last season in Montreal, t looks as though the Militia are back to playoff form and ready to take a run in the SMJHL playoffs.
When this year started, the team was expected to perform much like they did throughout the season, a slow start while the rookies all got their feet under them in the SMJHL, then as the season went on, Montreal started coming alive and meshing together as intended.
It came down to the last couple of games to solidify the bye teams, and that’s where if the powerplay would have clicked earlier in the year, we would have been a much better seeded team heading into the playoffs, that will be a focal point of our off-season plan for sure.
We also have some depth spots to fill in that we have started to address with recent trades, and they will only help us with our future of the team and where we are trending.
Even though this season is still not finished yet, we are already looking forward to next season because of the roster we have, and the maxed players we should have leading into next season is truly exciting!

The Saint Louis Scarecrows made the play-offs in the 6th seed. Thanks to a solid stretch down the stretch where the Crows were second in the power rankings with 35 goals for and 24 goals against. In the previous week they were at the top of the Power rankings. Overall the Scarecrows ended the season with an average of 3.08 goals a game. Counter that with the league average of 2.85 and the crows new how to score goals. One thing the crows struggled with was the ability to stop the puck going in their net. They sat 6th in goals against with 2.94, while the league average was 2.85. St. Louis also owned the 3rd best PK and Power play units with the PK sitting at 82.24% and the Power play at 21.29%. Another positive is that the crows had the most shots for at 29.52 shots per game, and 3rd in shots against with 24.86. Both of which were significantly better than the league average of 25.31. The Crows had the most Hits per game at 17.80, but were dead last in PIM at 10.30. This shows that the team loved to be physical, but also blurred the line between dirty and clean plays. Finally the team sat 3rd in Face-off Percentage at 50.26%. All in all the crows season was a positive one, and if they shore up their discipline issue this team will be soaring to the Finals in no time.

Of course we made the fucking playoffs, do we look like the Kelowna Knights to you?
The St Louis Scary Crows of course made it into the playoffs as the 5th best team in the SMJHL. Bolstered by the strongest rookies of this years draft, it was a foregone conclusion that they would be headlining the playoffs. 25 wins, 20 losses and 5 overtime losses was good enough for the fifth seed.
The Scarecrows scored the third most goals in the SMJHL this year while allowing the third most goals this year. A solid 10 - 10 - 5 home record followed by an impressive 15-10-0 away record bolstered their record this year.
Spearheaded by Nour Harrak's impressive scoring playmaking ability racking up a total of 25 points in a mere 32 games for the 'crows. Lombardi also chimed in with during the span of 44 games, 31 points. Tor Tuck managed to spent his entire season just kicking the utter shit out of people, racking up an impressive 94 minutes in the box. He also managed to get involved in a total of 4 fights. It's going to be especially interesting to see how St. Louis performs in the playoffs, is it a flash in the pan or will it set up a possible dynasty?
This PT is gonna be especially tough for anybody playing for the Whalers or the Knights, because let's be honest it's probably gonna be tough for them to write about the playoffs when they likely won't make it during Lavelle's SMJHL career. Oh well.

I know i missed the deadline so ignore if you want but im posting anyway.
The Kelowna Knights did not qualify for the playoffs this season. Starting with a controversial midseason trade, the kings limped to the finish line ending the season 1 point above last place. The team had a very successful draft last season and managed to gather more picks for the upcoming draft as well. With another solid draft, this team could be a contender sooner rather than later. I believe this team could compete next season and with top prospects Jones, Vakarian, Norup, and Hansen this team is going to surprise the SMJHL next season. Some other positives could be that the team has a young leadership group with Captain Christian Petersen likely to return as well as the already mentions Jones and Vakarian. Some things to look out though would be the team relying too much on these players and getting them worn out early. I don’t believe this will be an issue but it could happen. Another possibility is some player may not take a step forward or if the draft doesn’t pan out the way they want, they will be in the same position as this season. Another unlikely situation but anything can happen in the SMJHL. Here’s to hoping for a successful season for the Knights.
