Task #1 - Make a top 5 list for the playoffs. Top 5 goals in round 1, top 5 players, top 5 noteworthy people in the audience for one of the games, whatever you want. No word count, but if you just list 5 names, you won't get the full 2 tpe. Be a little creative.
Now that the playoffs have come to an end, I wanted to take a look at the top 5 players who had the most impressive outlying stats compared to the rest of their competition. 1: To start, let’s examine the performance of the shot blocking maestro, Detroit’s Tatu Mäkelä. Across his 13 games played, he blocked a whopping 30 shots which was 9 higher than the next closest player, on top of producing 10 points which placed him third amongst all defensemen. 2: The next outlying stat belongs to Prince George’s Kyler Gill who sustained a tremendous 30.43% shooting percentage across 14 games, tying him for first place in overall playoff goal scoring with 7 goals. 3: Our next stat is aptly titled the “Gentleman Awardâ€, and goes to Prince George’s Paddy Kane-Rielly who despite landing 23 hits, putting him in 6th place overall, only took a single 2 minute trip to the penalty box, whilst also playing more total minutes and average minutes per game than the other 5 players ahead of him in hits. 4: Our next stat is the “Is he really going back to the box again?â€, and belongs to St Louis’s Paddy O'Sullivan. While Paddy’s 23 penalty minutes only placed him third overall, he put up these impressive numbers over just 10 games compared to the 13 games of the two players above him, whilst averaging 8-9 minutes less per game as well. 5: Our final stat is the “Unlikely playmakerâ€, and goes to none other than Prince George’s netminder, Aleksandr Aleksandrov. Despite only playing 10 games throughout Prince George’s successful playoff run, Aleksandrov managed to chip in 3 assists, which would have placed him above several skaters who made it all the way to the finals. What more could be expected from the so called “Russian Superweaponâ€? Task #2 - Interview one of your teammates as if you stole a reporter's mic before or after a playoff game. If you didn't make the playoffs, do it as though it's the season exit interview. Can be as serious or not-serious as you want. Include at least 3 questions and 3 answers. This will be a year-end locker room cleanout interview with the Colorado Mammoths Dean Youngblood. Question: Hey Dean, I know this was a rough year for the team but do you have any thoughts for the upcoming season? Answer: Uh, you know it wasn’t what we wanted when we started the year, especially when we had a playoff spot for most of the year. I’m excited to see what management is able to do in the draft and off season to build us into a championship team in the next few years. Question: A few of your teammates were traded to Prince George at the deadline and went on to win the championship. Any thoughts on their achievement? Answer: Uh, it’s great to see the guys managed to pull it out at the end. We had a few viewing parties throughout the playoffs and there was definitely some loud nights, especially with the way game 7 ended, but overall it was great to see them win in the end. We lost some character guys, and it was no surprise that they’d go on to win with an already great team in Prince George. Question: Going into the off season, do you have any plans for what you want to work on prior to training camp? Answer: I was pretty happy with the way the season went for me offensively, and I managed to be fairly defensively responsible at the same time, but there’s always things to work on. I think more than anything I just want to really push myself physically leading up to training camp, so I hope to come in faster and stronger than ever before. Thanks so much for the interview, and good luck in the offseason. Task #3 - Write a goals highlight play by play for one series winning game, or make an infographic featuring stats from a series winning game. Requirements: At least 250 words for written / at least 4 stats featured in at least 2 different ways for graphics (bar graphs, pie graphs, list of names, etc). ![]() Task #4 - Make a case for who you think deserves to win Playoff MVP. Requirements: At least 150 words and a minimum of 2 stats. While he wasn’t inevitably on the Championship winning team, I felt that Connor Tanners performance particularly as a defenseman was most worthy of holding the claim to Playoff MVP. To start with, Connor was an absolutely dynamic offensive producer, putting up 7 goals and 4 assists, sitting just a single point back from his teammate Jack Tanner. While both of these players absolutely have a similar claim to the title, what differentiated the two were the underlying advanced stats. Connor led the playoffs with 61 shots, contributed 20 hits, and averaged a whopping 23.48 minutes per game, whilst also being an absolute force on Montreal’s powerplay unit, placing him third overall in terms of playoff points, despite missing out on an entire series worth of production from being knocked out just prior to the finals. While this is absolutely an irregular MVP pick compared to the likes of Dionýz VyskoÄ or Logan Jensen, I wanted to bring attention to a player who went above and beyond the production levels expected by his position, and was a catalyst behind his teams run throughout the playoffs. If I had to pick a player who specifically made it to the final, my choice would instead have to be Detroit’s Tatu Mäkelä. Tatu was an absolute force for the back end of the Falcons, putting up 10 points, sitting at a +2 despite playing over 22 minutes a night against the opponents best forwards, and also blocking a whopping 30 shots which put him far ahead of his competition. I’ve always had a soft spot for these sort of players who manage to balance offensive production on top of being a brick wall defensively, and Tatu absolutely went above and beyond any other defenseman in the finals in terms of sheer team contribution across the board. *302 Words* Task #5 - Create a 4 Star Cup Championship banner similar to the one the SHL uses at the top of the site. Requirements: Must include a team logo and at least one player render. ![]() San Francisco

While the glory and intensity of the playoffs is often what's held in the spotlight; let's take a look at the Top 5 Bloopers of the S38 SMJHL Playoffs! #5 - Rocky Park (Montreal Militia) Park scores his first goal of the playoffs in a very unconventional way. After Luisa Koller took a hard shot at the net which missed, the puck would take a strange bounce off the boards back in front of the net. It would hit the unsuspecting Park square in the chin before falling and knicking the blade of his stick going between the legs of netminder Alexsandrov. #4 - Game 6 Four Star Cup Finals Zemgus Nylander and Kevin Marks actually get tangled up following a faceoff in the Firebirds end. Their helmets get locked together in a rather close embrace but what's more hilarious is it happened while Viktor Marius scored the game winning goal off the faceoff win by Marks who was still tangled up! #3 - Max Poulin (Kelowna Knights) Things didn't go well for Kelowna, particularly Poulin who not only had an embarrassing tumble in front of his own goal, but had a shot deflect direct off of his behind while he struggled to get up and regain his balance. The Knights lost the game 2-1. #2 - Kyler Gill (Prince George Firebirds) After taking a lot of heat from a heckler in Detroit, Gill received a neutral zone pass that just so happened to deflect off of his stick and over the bench hitting...you guessed it. That same fan! The fan was thankfully OK after being looked at. Gill went on to score a goal on the next shift shaking off his heckler. #1 - Mikhail Petrikov (Prince George Firebirds) With the Detroit goalie wildly out of his net Petrikov went too blast home a hard pass, but completely fanned on the attempt. The puck would advance all the way to the other end but this doesn't end here. This was on a delayed penalty and no goalie in the net! Petrikov raced back and was able to stop the puck before it went into the open net BUT then he would lose an edge on his blade and crash to the ice losing control of the puck, it went in the net! Task #2 - Interview one of your teammates as if you stole a reporter's mic before or after a playoff game. If you didn't make the playoffs, do it as though it's the season exit interview. Can be as serious or not-serious as you want. Include at least 3 questions and 3 answers. Requirements: At least 150 words and a minimum of 2 stats. The Case for Dionýz Vyskoč artermis Look I don't like picking a name I can't fucking pronounce. I also just looked at some stats quick and a couple boxscores and picked a dude. But Vice Cock needs to win this award! The man did the thing when his team needed a thing the most. He's a hero's hero. Two big goals in the final game to get his team to the finals, and the goal that won it all. Nothing else matters after that. He lead all scrubs with 15 points. Of his 5 goals, 3 of them came in series winning games. He also had 10 assists which was a league high. This dude is clutch. Clutch Vice Cock. He's not a good Canadian kid but he sure plays like one and that's alright in my books. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of Clutch Vice Cock in the future! He even blocked A shot, one single blocked shot, and I bet it was clutch! Task #5 - Create a 4 Star Cup Championship banner similar to the one the SHL uses at the top of the site. Task #1 - Top 5 Overtime Goals
5. Militia vs Firebirds – Game 1 Final Score: 1-0 Firebirds Daedric Heikennin (Wolf Von Hammersmark, Anders Christiansen) Neither goalie could be beat until 5:43 in the OT frame, Heikennin giving the Firebirds a 1-0 series lead. 4. Militia vs Knights – Game 2 Final score: 5-4 Knights Joakim Lindqvist (finn Jakobsen, Richard Physt) Knights score 3 unanswered in 1st, militia scores 4 unanswered in 2nd, knights tie in third, win in OT to tie the series, but would later go on to lose in 6 games 3. Falcons vs Scarecrows – Game 4 Final score: 3-2 Falcons Francesco Belluci (Kevin Marks) at 0:04 (PP) Svatoslav Bodnar takes a slashing penalty with 15 seconds left in the OT frame, Belluci would make him pay, tying the series for Detroit. The Falcons would win the next two games to take the series 4-2. 2. Militia vs Firebirds – Game 6 Final Score: 3-2 Militia Nolan Snipez (Jack Tanner, Rocky Park) Snipez ties the series for the Militia, setting up a huge game 7 to decide who would head to the final 1. Falcons vs Firebirds – Game 7 Final score: 2-1 Firebirds Dionyz Vyskoc (Paddy Kane-Reilly, Mikhail Petrikov) Championship winning goal, what more to be said. Task #2 - We’re here with Halifax Raiders forward Owen Melanson. Q) Owen, the Raiders finished last this season missing the playoffs, do you think this was due to a lack of talent? A) I’m just here so I don’t get fined Q) GM’s 44 and Shmurph have put together a number of draft picks for the upcoming draft, do you expect a turnaround year next season? A) I’m just here so I don’t get fined Q) Are you upset because you only played an average of 2:50 per game over a 50 game season? A) I’m just here so I don’t get fined Well folks there you have it, Owen Melanson on the Raiders latest season. Task #3 - Task #4 - In my eyes, there were three main contenders for this year’s playoffs MVP. They are Cedric Moreau, Montreal Militia goaltender, along with Dionyz Vyskoc and Paddy Kane-Reilly, forwards from the Prince-George Firebirds. But my playoff MVP goes to Paddy Kane-Reilly. Vyskoc had one more point than Kane-Reilly and also scored the championship winning goal, but Kane-Reilly was not only putting up strong offensive numbers, but doing the dirty work as well. He played a whopping 320 minutes over 14 games, leading the playoffs in minutes played, and this came as a forward. Not only was he on the top powerplay unit, but he was the top penalty killer on his team as well. He won 51.58% of his 411 faceoffs taken. He dished out 23 hits while only taking one penalty all playoffs. All of this on top of his 6 goals and 8 assists. This is the kind of player you want leading your team. A guy that will do whatever it takes to get the job done. That’s why Paddy Kane-Reilly is my Playoff MVP. Top 5 Best Player names on Kelowna Knights: Miervaldis Frīdrihs Ozoliņš - I have been a part of the SHL family for one season here and I still don't know how to pronounce his name nor do I know where the influence came from. But seeing this name on your line, you know you will be scoring goals. Hunter Jones - Great guy, and come on, Hunter Jones sounds like the next great Marvel super hero name. Deku Izuku - This is an easy choice because Deku Izuku is the name of the main character of the popular manga Boku no Hero Academia. Great read. Fenton Uriel - Little bias on the choice. Origin of name comes from the video Fenton (dog video on youtube) and Uriel is based off a character in the manga Bastard!! (great manga, sadly not completed though) Mirio Togata - Another great character based off the manga Boku no Hero Academia. Task #2 - Interview one of your teammates as if you stole a reporter's mic before or after a playoff game. If you didn't make the playoffs, do it as though it's the season exit interview. Can be as serious or not-serious as you want. Include at least 3 questions and 3 answers. What was your favorite moment about this past season playing for Kelowna? Making the playoffs was huge for me last season. It shows our team is trending upward and ready to compete. What are your goals for next year? My goals for Jones next season will be the same as last. He needs to hit a point per game. He has taken on the leadership role, and has established himself as one of the top two-way wingers in the league, but his offensive upside is better than what he displayed last season. Obviously the biggest goal would be to go further in the playoffs as well. What role will you have next year for your team? After taking on the Co-GM role for Kelowna, i have stepped away from my assistant captaincy position. We have made some decisions on replacements and they will be announced soon. As for my place in the lineup. im starting Jones on the 2nd line this season, but nour and I are very active in making changes to the line up, so we will have to see where he fits. the plan right now is to have him start on the 2nd line and spread the offence. ![]() Registered Senior Member

Task 1: Top 5 Rookie Performances in the Playoffs
5. Starting the list off at #5 is Jake Forke of the Detroit Falcons. This kid posted 2 goals and 2 assists in his 13 games this post season. He was solid on the ice during his 19.90 minutes per game and +3 rating. 4. At #4 we have Detroit's very own Bob Bergen. This rookie blue-liner tallied 6 assists and a +1 in 13 games that ultimately ended in a heartbreaking Game 7 loss in the finals. Look for Bergen to come up big for the Falcons next year. 3. Coming in at #3 we have Kyle Keenan Jr, boasting 2 goals and 5 assists for a total of 7 points in 13 games this post season. Keenan Jr was also a +1 and was second on his team in shooting percentage with 25%. 2. Ranking at #2 is the impressive young goalie, Cedric Moreau. Moreau posted a 7-3-2 while playing in 13 games with a .918 SV% and 2.18 GAA and a single shutout. 1. Our #1 rookie on the list is the Firebird's young stud defenseman Mikhail Petrikov. He tops out our list with 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points in 13 games. PGF relied heavily on their rook as he averaged 20.70 minutes per game throughout the post season on their way to luckily taking down Detroit in 7 games. Task 2: Interview with Dad bot following Game 7 of finals. Me: Dadbot, who would you like to thank for getting you this far? Dadbot: Shoutout to sidewalks for keeping me off the streets. Me: I mean, that's one way to look at it! What was your general reaction when you saw that GWG cross the goal line? Dadbot: Two fish run into a concrete wall. One turns to the other and says "Dam." Yeah, Dam is a calm way to put it. What are you feeling after this crushing Game 7 defeat? Dadbot: What does a suicidal pencil say? There is not a point in life anymore. Me: Getting pretty dark there Dadbot, that's enough out of you. Task 3: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Task 4: Playoff MVP - Paddy Kane-Rielly As a member of Detroit, it pains me to have to write this, but there isn't really an argument for someone from another team. It really came down to Dionýz VyskoÄ and Paddy Kane-Rielly. It was a hard decision to make, but looking at the stat sheet, I believe Kane-Rielly really is the playoff MVP. It pains me to say it, but he made the takeaway (from myself, Kolesnikovs) and assisted on the goal that would end Game 7 and capture Prince George the Four Star Cup. Aside from just that Game 7, Kane-Rielly had a solid post season run. He finished with 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points in 14 games with a +/- of 0. He was solid in both aspects of the game, spending 42 minutes on the powerplay and 31 minutes on the penalty kill. He also averaged more ice time than any other member of his team. He has my vote for Playoff MVP Task 5: ![]() My incredible photo editing skills ![]() Registered Posting Freak

Top 5 Songs in the Militia Locker Room 5. Le But – Loco Locass – This is our goal song so it was a fairly obvious choice. 4. Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen – Obvious choice. Militia legend Tim Elliot is in a Jepsen cover band so his brother Jim plays it all the time. 3. Shut Up and Dance – Walk the Moon – This is just a really fun song. 2. My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) – Fall Out Boy – Try not to get hyped by this one. 1. Mötley Crüe - Kickstart my Heart – Our Season 33 Anthem. This was on repeat for me during the playoffs. Task #2 Jim Elliot – Hey Freddie! I got a microphone. Want to answer a few questions? Fredrich Koenig – Sure Jim what’s up? JE – How does it feel to be one half of the hottest defensive pairings in the league? We have had a pretty sweet run this season and next season will be even sicker. FK – Pretty good man. We have solid chemistry. My favorite part is when you pass it to me and I score. Thanks for sitting back and given me all the glory this season. You’re a selfless guy. JE – I gotta put the team first and someone has to make you look good. So it’s game seven against Prince George tonight. What are you most looking forward to? FK – That’s a good question again. Honestly, they are a good team but we are just as good. We just need to keep with them and if we can get them into the later minutes on their heels we will have a good chance. The tougher the fight, the better our chances. JE – So diplomatic. I think they’re a bunch of rat-faces who are trying to buy a championship and we need to stop them. One last question. We need to settle this one once and for all. What is our nickname? KOElliot or Ellionig? FK – I gotta go. You figure it out. Task #3 Rusty Ricketts – We are here in game six of the SMJHL Semi-Finals featuring the Montreal Militia and the Prince George Firebirds. Montreal has managed to survive scoring two late goals in the third period to tie up the game. Here we go in Overtime. Berezin beats PKR in the neutral zone. Connor Tanner misses a shot on net. Alfredsson! No go. Tanner gets another go but Aleksandrov wraps it up. Zajac beats McKinley in the Firebird’s territory but Elliot drills him and the puck is loose. Gill manages to recover and misses a shot. Twain fires on the other way but Petrikov blocks it. Off-side! Keenan Junior beats manning in the face-ff. Snipez!!!! Goal!!!! Militia are going to game seven. What a goal. With seven minutes left in this game it looked like the series was in the books but the scrappy Militia manage to find a way to stay alive. The entire team is taking to the ice congratulating Nolan on his goal. This has been a season of ups and downs for these guys but somehow to manage to find a way to pull through. Could they be headed to Detroit for a rematch from Season 37? Never say never. They are punching far above their weight right now and have Prince George backing up once again. It would be quite a story if they pull it off. Snipez is beside himself celebrating with his team. What a game, and what a series this has been. Whoever wins this one might go all the way. Task #4 As much as it pains me to say it, Paddy Kane-Reilly deserves the award. He has been a force all year and really stepped up when it mattered, even after his team bought additional talent. While his point total was nothing to get excited about, neither was anyone else’s. Through fourteen games he had six goals and eight assists averaging a point a game. That is something expected of a player on his level right now. However, he was efficient with a 14.63 shot percentage off of forty-one shots. Over half of his points came on special teams so he really capitalized on penalties. Prince George had quite a few guys in the top ten in playoff scoring and he was not even first. However, I think he gave his team the edge on the power play. I expect a changing of the guard next season as a lot of rookies continue to grow but he should feel good knowing helped his team win a cup. Task #1 :Top 5 rookies performance in s38 playoffs
#5 Anders Christiansen Prince George Firebirds Nobody expected the series between Prince George and Montreal to turn out like it did. Pretty much all experts were just wondering who would PGF play in the finals. That Montreal team kept on proving people wrong by forcing a game 7. Prince George was the favorite to win it all, the pressure was definately on their side. Anders Christiansen played the unsong hero for his team. The young forward who barely played 5 :27 in this game scored an important goal in the first period to help his team make it 2-0 and going in the next round. #4 Cédric Moreau Montreal Militia Most people didn’t give much chance for Montreal to win their 1st matchup. They were the last place playoffs team going against Kelowna who finished in 3rd place. Before game 4, Montreal was surprisingly up 2-1. A win in game 4 would pretty much seal the deal. That's what they did, thanks to Cédric Moreau who only allowed 1 goal in 27 shots and getting the first star of the game #3 Bob Bergen Detroit Falcons In the 2nd round of the playoffs, we had the Detroit Falcons playing the St.Louis Scarecrows coming out of a strong showing winning in 4. St.Louis seemed to carry some of that momentum in this series as after 3 games they were up 2-1. Game 4 was crucial for Detroit as a loss would made things extremely unlikely to come back. Rookie defenseman Bob Bergen had a strong showing, he ended up with 2 assists, 4 shots and played 18 :45. His team ended up winning the game in OT and the next 2 games to qualify for the 4 star cup championship. #2 Paddy O'Sullivan St.Louis Scarecrows 1st round matchup between the Vancouver Whalers and the St.Louis Scarecrows was quite intriguing. The two teams finished 4th and 5th with only 4 points separating them. The series turned out to be a complete massacre as St.Louis swept their opponent. The first game of a series is always crucial and with Paddy O’Sullivan scoring a hattrick in a 5-3 W, the rookie definately set the tone for the rest of the series #1 Mikhail Petrikov Prince George Firebirds Fans couldn’t ask for a better scenario, the two best teams in regular season battling for the 4 star cup championship, in a game 7 and it required overtime. The pressure on players was tremendous, one mistake and you might lose the game for your team. Now imagine being a rookie on Prince George knowing the team hasn't won in over 30 seasons. Mikhail Petrikov seems to be a guy striving in those moments as he played 24 minutes and set up the game winning goal to help his team finally break the curse Task #2 It's the annual season exit press conference. The whole thing takes around 2 hours to be complete. The first hour is for the owner and gm, then the team’s stars and the role players. As the Colorado GMs, coaches and star players were done with it, there weren't many journalists left when it was Ti-Guy's turn. So he grab the mic in front of him and started interviewing for fun Hypolact Asia who is next to him. What was at first a joke ended up quite spectacular.. Q : Hey Hypolact, Christian of HTD here. I'd like to know how hard was it for you being far away from your family and being in a new culture? A : It wasn't so bad at first but by mid-season I started wondering if I really wanted to be here. I wasn't able to make friends, the meals here are awful and I’m missing my parents. If it was just for me, I would have fly back home but the team gm threaten me to sue me if I'm breaking my contract Q :Ti-Guy still thinking Hypolact was just messing kept going on. Cool, cool what about your role on the team this season, were you happy with it? A : I was always the team's number one d-man. I wasn't happy I wasn’t here. They lie to me Ti-Guy, I should have kept playing in the ASHL. Q : Ti-Guy felt a bit weird and now wanted to make sure Hypolact wasn't messing with him. Yo for real Hypo, you coming back next season right? A : Nope, this stupid shit is my last obligation. I was signed for one year and now that the season is over, I can't wait to get out of this shithole. Btw, I've never liked you Ti-Guy you french frog Hypolact then stand up and left the room. Ti-Guy is still wondering what the fuck just happened. Task #3 The SMJHL commisioners couldn't ask for a better scenario, the 4 Star Cup winner will be decided in a game 7 and in overtime. That's right folks, the score is 1-1 after 60 minutes of play. Shots on goals are in favor of the away team, the Detroit Falcons. The overtime is about to begin and all PGF fans attending are on their seats. The last time they saw their team won the cup was more than 30 years ago, the pressure is at an all time high for the home team players. The puck is drop, Kevin Marks of the Detroit Falcons wins the draw against Paddy Kane-Rielly. Jake Forke gets the puck and pass it back to his center who is able to enter in the opposite zone. He is able to draw Alexander Zajac before making a beautiful pass to Viktor Marius for the one timer… big save by Aleksandr Aleksandrov. The young net minder has kept his team in the game, his team being outshot by 10 shots. Detroit continue to put pressure on a really stressed Prince George team. With less than 7 minutes remaining in the first overtime, Tatu Makela took a bad penalty on Blabar Bananerstrom, 2 minutes for roughing. PGF coach is sending Kane-Rielly-Bananerstrom-Vyskoc-Nylander-Petrikov on the ice. The home team is doing a good job of cycling the puck and installing their PP. Vyskoc took a great wrist shot on net but save by Evgueni Marmeladov who allows a rebound. His d-man Quick Mafs retrieves the puck and try to clear it. The dump wasn't high enough, Mikhail Petrikov is able to catch the puck at the blue line and pass it quickly to Kane-Rieilly who one touches it to a wide open Dionyz Vyskoc who… scorrrrrrrrrrrrreeeesssssss with a beautiful one-timer. That's it that’s it the curse is lift, the Firebirds are the 4 star cup champions. Task #4 99% of the time, the playoffs MVP goes to a player of the championship team. Detroit was a nice surprise in these playoffs, but no one really stood out individually to be in the 1%. Prince George 1st line continued to do really well after dominating in the regular season. Dionyz Vyskoc and Paddy Kane-Rielly finished both with 15 and 14 pts in 14 games. They both came up huge to help Prince George finally winning the 4 star cup. But, my pick goes to their goaltender Aleksandr Aleksandrov, especially after playing the heroes in game 7. He faced a total of 32 shots, 11 in overtime only allowing one goal. Sure, he didn't have the best stats among all goalies by posting a 2.44 and .894 save percentage. But after a poor showing in game 1 of the finals, he was a brick wall afterwards, he only allowed 11 goals in the next 6 games. The goalie position is the most stressful of all, with what was at stakes for Prince George, I truly believe they weren't winning that game 7 with any other SMJHL ggoalies. That’s for all these reasons he gets my vote. Task #5 ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member
Task #1 - Make a top 5 list for the playoffs. Top 5 goals in round 1, top 5 players, top 5 noteworthy people in the audience for one of the games, whatever you want. No word count, but if you just list 5 names, you won't get the full 2 tpe. Be a little creative.
Top 5 Series Winning Goals 5. Dionyz Vyskoc’s early goal to send the Firebirds to the championship round. Vyskoc was able to get a goal early against the Militia, who would eventually go on to be shutout in this game against the Firebirds. As such Vyskoc scoring early ends up being the only goal that matters and while it may not be as good as some others due to the nature of the game, it still is a great goal for him to have and 1 he can look back on fondly for them. 4. The Dude’s goal to put the Scarecrows over the edge against the Whalers. This goal, while at the time seemed to just advance the blowout, turned into the game winning goal as the Whalers would score 4 goals in this game. This goal had put them up 5-1 at the time and made their lead unreachable as the Whalers were only able to score 4 in this game where they needed a lot more than 4. 3. Connor Tanner’s game cementing goal to face the Firebirds. Tanner’s goal put the Militia up 3-1 at the time, which turned into the game winner as the Knights would score shortly after to make it 3-2. This extra goal that seemed to put it out of reach proved to be the deciding factor in this game and helped them advance to the next round and keep their championship hopes alive. 2. Mathias Victorsson’s goal to send the Falcons to the Championship. This goal propelled the Falcons to their Championship birth, and while it may not have ended the way they liked, He put them back on the board after the Scarecrows roared back with 2 quick goals in the 2nd to tie the game up at 2 apiece. This allowed them to keep playing and keep their championship hopes alive. 1. Dionyz Vyskoc’s 4 star winning goal. Obviously, this is the best goal of the season, as it was the championship winning goal and ended the drought that PGF experienced for many seasons. Vyskoc’s overtime heroics take the top spot on this list. This goal cements his playoff legacy, as Vyskoc was able to notch his second series winning goal for the Firebirds, who will surely remember his play while they’re celebrating a 4 star Championship. Task #2 - Interview one of your teammates as if you stole a reporter's mic before or after a playoff game. If you didn't make the playoffs, do it as though it's the season exit interview. Can be as serious or not-serious as you want. Include at least 3 questions and 3 answers. Interview was done with James Johnson (Mongoose87) Q1. Now that we look to the draft what do you think is your best skill to offer to SHL teams? A1: I may not be the flashy offensive defenceman type, but teams know, when I'm on the ice, I'm going to give the team the best shot at regaining possession of the puck in our zone and I'm going to make a smart pass to give the forward a good opportunity to score. I’m always working to be that guy that my team can count on to do the hard work, and get my teammates rewarded, when they get scoring opportunities as a result. Q2: What are you most looking forward to in the team that drafts you? A2: I want to be a guy my team can rely on. My goal is to become the franchise leader in blocked shots for my future team. I know there’s going to be a lot of experienced guys there, and it’s going to be great to learn from them, and I think that’ll help me improve my game a lot, and that will translate to better results for my team, whether I’m still in the juniors or in the pros. Q3: Where do you think you rank among defensemen in the draft? Do you think you end up as a top drafted defenseman in this draft? A3: No, I'm not that cocky! You've got guys like Jim Elliott who get more points and block more shots than me, those are the guys going early. I think not being in the playoffs will hurt my stock a little bit, too. I won't fall as late as I did in the SMJHL draft - seventh round, I think - I think I'm probably going mid – third round. Task #3 - Write a goals highlight play by play for one series winning game, or make an infographic featuring stats from a series winning game. Requirements: At least 250 words for written / at least 4 stats featured in at least 2 different ways for graphics (bar graphs, pie graphs, list of names, etc) In Game 7 of the championship it was a closely contested bout between the Falcons and Firebirds, the 2 top SMJHL teams played a great final game but only 1 could raise the 4 Star Cup Trophy at the end of the day. In the first period things were looking good for the Falcons as they took the lead early with a goal from Timmy Barlow. His 3rd goal of the postseason, Barlow was assisted by Kevin Marks, who had his 6th assist of the postseason. This put the Firebirds down early, but they had plenty of time to comeback. In the 2nd period of the deciding game, the Firebirds struck back and tied the game up 1-1. Kyler Gill put the Firebirds first tally on the board, for his 7th of the postseason, with an assist from John Grossman Jr, for his 5th of the season. The Firebirds were able to tie it up and keep their hopes up that they could end their championship drought, which had lasted for a long time. In the 3rd period there was no goal scoring, which meant we were going to OT in what was the most important game of the season for these two teams. They had chances to score in period 3, but no team could come away with the winning score, so the series was going as far as it possibly could with overtime to be played. In the OT period, Dionyz Vyskoc was the hero for the Firebirds. Assisted by Paddy Kane-Rielly and Mikhail Petrikov, Vyskoc put the puck away to end the drought that PGF was experiencing and became the hero the Firebirds needed. They were going home champions, thanks to a some well-timed goals and late game heroics from their players. Task #4 - Make a case for who you think deserves to win Playoff MVP. Requirements: At least 150 words and a minimum of 2 stats. Dionyz Vyskoc deserves to be the playoff MVP, as he helped PGF knock off their playoff drought. Vyskoc was PGF’s leader in points for the playoffs, with 5 goals and 10 assists. This was 1 more than his fellow first line star Paddy Kane-Rielly, who is a regular season MVP front runner this season. This total while leading the team is impressive, doesn’t show the whole story, as 2 of his 5 goals were game winning goals. This shows that he was able to get goals when it mattered and made sure his team was able to take the lead and win the games they needed. Vyskoc was also able to help his team take advantage of their opponent’s mistakes, as he had 2 power play goals and 6 power play assists. These timely points show that Vyskoc was a catalyst in the special teams department, and helped his team have the edge by taking advantage of every opportunity possible. (160 words) Task #5 - Create a 4 Star Cup Championship banner similar to the one the SHL uses at the top of the site. Requirements: Must include a team logo and at least one player render. ![]() I don’t do graphics at all, I suck at them, this was the best I could do because well I have no clue how to operate any of the things that people use to make graphics. ![]() |
