Cynthia Taylor - Road to the Draft

The Celebration was over, for the Whalers that is, for Cynthia Taylor and the Prince George Firebirds, it ended weeks ago having lost to the Whalers in 6 games. All that was left in the locker room was a slight happiness for Patrick Brumm and his Challenge Cup win. But for Cynthia Taylor who was clearing out her Locker room, had an empty feeling as she packed her bags to head to Vancouver to cheer her husband on, and get to the gym. The Season was a tough one for Taylor who was brought onto the immediate top 4 and lots of ice time with it. While her performance was poor, she improved slowly and surely and has gained lots of friends in Prince George. Now she cemented her role in the draft, a late top 5th round pick in the SMJHL draft, and now a 2nd round pick.
Her thoughts were awoken when Luke Flemming honked his horn and told her to get in. As they were at the airport, many faces were there. Webb and Taylor hugged as they had become friends throughout the season and wished each other luck. Travis Kudleychuck was next, good friends throughout, they talked about the draft and where they might go before heading off. Flemming and Taylor were both on the same flight to Vancouver both for friends living there, in Flemming's case, it was Hoover to go cheer him on, for Taylor; it was Bure. On the flight there, Flemming and Taylor chatted away for the short flight back to Vancouver. Talking about everything from their draft to the time Flemming was hazed by Brumm and Robinson. Taylor had made it home for game 2 of the Playoff series with the Whalers and Knights. Although she mostly ignored the games and turned on TSN to check the score. She mostly stayed in the gym as often as possible trying to get in Peak Condition as her thoughts were now the Draft. Bure convinced her to go watch game 2 of the Finals at least and she came and watched. The game was close but Montreal was up by 3 late in the period, so coach JHS knew that Cynthia was in the stands and asked her to come down to the bench. JHS called a timeout as Cynthia gave a small speech "The Fuck you guys doing" said Cynthia. "This doesn't look like the team that knocked out, Prince George, Kelowna, this is the team that lost 9 straight in the regular season" The latter words seemed to have gotten the Whalers perked up a bit. "So for fucks sake, you better win this, you fucked up in the regular season, just were lucky that you guys always are in the playoffs. if you lose this, you'll never get taken serious. It's your time to shine, go claim it" The words sparked the Whalers as Bure was able to get 3 goals in 3 minutes to tie the game late. Allen later won the game on a breakaway. Now that the Whalers had won the Playoffs, the attention was the Draft again. everyone was getting in shape again. Taylor ran a 5K run in the morning with her dog. and went to the gym daily. Her phone rang one day. Her agent gave her a brief run down of her draft ranking and what would the SHL combine would be like. Cynthia hanged up the phone and packed her bags and head towards the airport yet again. A few more days went, Cynthia was in top shape and it showed in the Physical part of the combine. she was in the top 6 in every part of the portion. Many other prospects were also in good shape, Jesster, Flacko, Clayton, Maximova, Allen, Wind, and Koroviev all preformed well. Many teams contacted Cynthia after the combine, the first one was Toronto, who had contacted Cynthia far earlier into the season. JNH had kept in contact with her agent all throughout the season and plenty of conversations have happened between them. Intrest was mutual as Toronto needed defencemen and Cynthia liked Toronto and the fans Next were the Seattle Riot who were looking to draft her with the 19th and 20th pick. Cynthia engaged in conversation with Seattle GM Gifter of Bikes. Cynthia also had talks with New England Wolfpack, and the Edmonton Blizzard. As the Mock Drafts came out and Cynthia was watching the popular TV show from England; Sherlock, Cynthia brought out her phone and went to look through all the different analysts to go see where she might go in the draft. "Where's Dredger's Mock Draft? Oh hell no not Eklund's draft, fuck that" Most had Cynthia go to Seattle or to Toronto late in the second. Cynthia was quite happy with the teams most expected that she would go to. She enjoyed the talks with Toronto and their group. She also enjoyed Seattle and the talks they had. Cynthia continued to watch Sherlock after but was often rewinding it as she was continuously asking questions The plane ride to the draft was long, not because of actual time, but anticipation. She was stopped by Kudleychuck, Webb, and Flemming as they chatted away before the draft. Cynthia put on a simple Tank top with some tight jeans. Despite the fact that she looked out of place, Cynthia made it work as no one paid attention to her outfit. Finally the Commissioner had risen up to the podium with some boos and cheers Quote:Originally posted by Leafs4ever+Aug 5 2015, 04:00 PM--><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1' id='QUOTE-WRAP'><tr><td>QUOTE (Leafs4ever @ Aug 5 2015, 04:00 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Hello everyone and welcome to the Season 25 SHL Entry Draft! Draft had begun, excitment was at a all time high, all though the suspense wasn't there, everyone knew the 1st overall pick, they would be foolish not to. And thus, Grimmsterj came to the Podium and announced his selection Quote:First things first, on behalf of the Seattle Riot I would like to congratulate Tanner, LVShark, and the entire Hamilton organization on their successful season and being Challenge Cup Champions! An Obvious pick for the Riot, next was New England. Once again many knew who would be 2nd. Clayton. Clayton impressed many with his last minute Media Spurge and personality as his draft stock had sky rocketed up to 2nd overall. Buffalo made a weird trade with WKP earlier and Buffalo moved from the 4th overall to the 3rd. Likely to make sure they would get highly skilled prospect Robb Wind. Although many doubted that WKP would take Wind anyways for their need of defencemen. But Wind made sense as he also liked Buffalo and wouldn't mind joining them Maria Maximova, a name many WKP fans will know as she was drafted 4th overall. Maria was sure to impress West Kendall in the future Finally in the top 5, Lord Pretty Flacko was drafted by New England, once again not surprising as New England clearly liked Flakco quite a bit. The Top 5 was set in stone but the rest was unknown as people could go anywhere Calgary came to the podium but Cynthia had a glazed look as she knew, she wouldn't go 6th. But as Toronto came to the podium, Cynthia became focused again. She didn't know why, she knew she wouldn't get picked this high so why would she bother. Besides her friend Koroviev had told her what would happen. A trade had happened with Edmonton as Tez got the 7th overall pick and drafted Koroviev, a fact known as Koro told her over a Poutine Party in England 8th was her friend Travis Kudleychuck. Cynthia was happy for Kudleychuck as he put on his Texas Jersey 9th and 10th was Webb and Flemming as the Cynthia felt once again happy for the 2. During the next 2 draft picks. She got a text message. It was from JNH "Hey we are going to draft you at 13th" She smiled as she turned off her phone and saw JNH and mouthed thank you. JNH now stood up and announced it <!--QuoteBegin-JNH@Aug 5 2015, 04:34 PM <span style='color:blue'>The Toronto North Stars are proud to select, 13th overall from the Prince George Firebirds.... ![]() <div align="center">Cynthia Taylor!</div></span> PST ITS THE GIRL ON THE RIGHT ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cynthia went and put on her jersey and went to the back and celebrated with Flemming, Kudleychuck, and all the draftees. They all congratulated her as she then went for an interview. Next thing she knew, she was on a plane to Toronto to see what the team was like. She was friends with Andrey Barbashev and JNH and she idolized Darien Sherbluk. The North Stars welcomed her with open arms along with Adam Falk. Many were happy that she came to Toronto and ecstatic to see her on the ice soon And Now the next Chapter begins for Cynthia Taylor. The SHL Chapter, beginning her career in Toronto with the Blue and white, No one quite knows what will happen in the future for Cynthia Taylor, but one thing for sure. Her Future is bright.
