That only changes how hard it is in the future, all the while keeping the uncapped PTs and such. It won't change anything that people have a problem with. People are upset that sophomores are better than their 5-season veteran. Making a harsher update scale won't fix that in any way, they will still be better than you by comparison.

We've kind of "dug our grave" with all the uncapped PTs over the past three seasons, I think we just kind of have to live with that, and not offer as many in the future.[/b]

Yes, I was. If you want to be elite at a skill, you should have to pay for it. Update scale was made for that, but increased PTs, anf so many points on offer have made it pointless. By the time every forward gets to their fourth or fifth season, they are going to have 99 in scoring, passing, skating and puck handling. The update scale is to create variation in players, but it isn't doing that. People have this desire to have a 'perfect' player, but it just makes for a shit league if everyone has 99 in the major attributes.

I want there to be variation between builds. Personally, I don't see the fun in pretty much every player being maxed out in key attributes. I think being forced to have strengths and weaknesses can only be a good thing for the league.

If the scale applies to everyone, then how would it be a pain in the ass to make a good player? I just find it boring when everyone ends up with the same player in the end. I want making a good player to involve making good decisions with the points you have available, not just getting things to 99 and hoping your maxed out player outperforms another maxed out player.

I don't see why being a 'quality' player has to involve having multiple attributes at 99. Why can't an elite sniper have 90 scoring and 88 skating?

Earning points in this league isn't difficult. The majority of PTs are easy written tasks, and there are plenty of prediction tasks as well. Earning money doesn't require all that much effort either.

You can still be 'elite' with the same amount of work if a harsher update scale is implemented. But 'elite' won't mean 99 in multiple attributes.

Yeahthat

Those guys pretty much sum it up. Damn I would've loved grim as SHLPA-director :D

I've got a few suggestions.

-What about a max amount of TPE you can earn in one season, one that includes uncapped TPE.

-Make a mini update scale for uncapped TPE (2 Uncapped = 1 Regular TPE)

-Make a sliding scale for the amount of TPE you can earn each season (ex. Rookies- 35 TPE, Sophomores- 40 TPE)

-Decrease amount of TPE available to apply when creating your player

We should revise the banking system, point system, and graphics. That would be a massive job to balance it all out to be working properly.

I completely agree about how essentially EASY it is to get 90s in all the stats. Think about it: There isn't one player in the NHL that has perfect skating while having the perfect shot and amazing passing.

Think of Datsyuk vs Crosby for instance. Both are fantastic in there own way but Dats gave away part of his offensive development to be more defensively minded. Crosby is more one dimensional in comparison but is elite at passing.

How many people would mind if we started over again to create a balance for all players?
