S71 PT#5: That's a Wrap

Creative Prompt / Story Mode – Written Task – 157 words
I mean, Saskatoon does not sound too bad. However, we’re happy to remain here in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Lord Farquaads is quite savvy in politics as well, due to his background as God Emporer of the small city state of Duloc. When Farquaads was tapped on the shoulder to discuss opening night, he was not surprised. Lord Farquaads has announced that before the game next season, there will be a Royale Rumble of amateur wrestlers all from Manitoba. These include the Prairie Prowler, the Legendary Lumberjack, the Canadian Cowboy, and El Stinky. The fans in attendance will be able to bet on the wrestlers in advance, and there are plenty of prop bets available, such as the first weapon that pulled from beneath the ring. The top sponsor, DuelFan, is a large sportsbook in Manitoba and has really engaged with this promotion already. At the end of the game, thirty lucky fans will receive a signed Championship Belt.

RIP Dangel. See you on the other side, brother

I feel like I would want to unveil it and announce it like Steve Jobs when he would announce the new iPhone or Apple Products. But, I aint no Steve Jobs and my vocaulary is super basic haha

Hey everyone, listen up! So, picture this epic scene: It's our team's big opening night in our super swanky new stadium, and we're about to unleash an absolutely mind-blowing spectacle that'll leave you breathless. Get ready to have your socks knocked off!

Alright, first things first, we're talkin' about a seriously next-level fusion of pyrotechnics and a jaw-dropping light show. We're talking lights dimming down, the entire stadium falling into silence, and then BAM! A spotlight beams right onto our team's logo smack in the center of the arena, projected on this massive screen that's gonna blow your mind.

But wait, it gets even better. That screen ain't just gonna show some ordinary highlights, oh no! We're taking you on a journey, man. We're gonna rewind the clock and showcase our team's evolution from its humble beginnings to the powerhouse it is today. It's like a movie, dude. And as the story unfolds, the music starts pumping, and the fireworks kick in. Kaboom! Explosions of color fill the night sky, dancing to the rhythm of the tunes.

And hold on tight, 'cause here comes the grand finale! That screen unveils a gigantic replica of our team mascot, soaring high above the stadium. It's gonna be epic, like a dream come true, an unforgettable sight you won't believe your eyes!

So, my friends, that's the plan for our opening night extravaganza. We're gonna leave you speechless, amped up, and hungry for the incredible season ahead. It's gonna be a memory etched in your hearts, trust me. Can't wait to see you all there, ready to rock and roll!

Ben Waters is a simple man. If you tell him to do something and he wants to do it, he will do it, and he will do it well. But if you ask him to do something that is cringe and not chill. He will kill you. That's right. And the owners? lately? They are not chill. But Ben Waters has decided to stop his murderous ways and become a more safe teammate, friend, and husband (he is presumably married to the owner in this scenario). Therefore, being the civil big dog he is, he has made a change. He will now be a complementary force in the life of his team, the Hamilton Steelhawks. This is because he is very pog and loves his friends. He will do all the fun stuff. He will design all the coolest events and make the most of his creative juices, of which he has many.

For Nevek Kove, it's really easy for him to know what he'd like seen during the opening night in their new arena. It needs to feature the love of his life, Superb Owl. The old quebec city citadelles mascot that he forced the junior team's ownership to give to him after his stint with the team. He could clearly see a small show with the owl during the opening minutes, in a totally silent arena, you'd see the owl cross the ice just as silently as the world around it is. The owl would be carrying a small crown, that it would drop in the head of players when they are named to be presented to the team. They would then give back the crown to Superb Owl who'd then go to the next one, and so on. It would be quite a sight with the special effect and the music that would start after the first drop. Nevek would be last and would carry the owl out of the arena.

Written Task: The drama is over. Your team will not be moved to Saskatoon, you have a real pro-level arena again, and your owner has stopped asking you to get involved in local politics on his behalf. For now. But he has one last thing to request your input on: the special event for opening night!

What special event, gimmick, promotion, or otherwise memorable frosting will you add to your team's opening night cake in your brand new stadium? What's something your fans will never forget? (150+ words)

Whew, thank goodness. I wasn't too thrilled about relocating to Saskatoon (sorry Saskatoon, it's not you, it's me). On the topic of cake, why not have a special cake event promotion for the opening night! We could call it our first (or I guess zeroth) birthday celebration! I think cake might be a bit difficult to give away, but maybe some fun little cupcakes. We could color the batter and icing to match the team colors too. I guess you might need to hope everyone actually eats the cupcakes, otherwise this one could go south real quick. They could turn in to ammunition real quick for a world record food fight, or something to toss on the ice if the team tosses up a goose egg in it's augural game. I guess if one of those two things were to happen the fans would certainly never forget that night haha. I'll remain optimistic though and hope everyone just eats the cheap, shitty cupcakes.

The city of Hamilton is excited for their new stadium for the Hamilton Steelhawks. The atmosphere was electric, with fans and supporters pouring into the state of the art arena. A spectacular celebration unfolded, marking a monumental milestone for the team and the city. The festivities started with a grand opening ceremony, with a crazy firework show in the Steelhawks blues, whites and yellows. Former members of the Steelhawks legends came by to celebrate the opening night, and do a little Q&A chat with the fans that wish the participate. Special jerseys and other merchandise were available for purchase to celebrate this night. With the new additions to the arena, food and drinks were offered on the house for your first set to try, and at a discount after that so fans can try the new food and quality drinks. To finish the night off the Steelhawks play a game against each other along with the former members. Overall, a great opening night for the team and its fans.

"So, we got the rink, we're not getting moved, we're all a hell of a lot stronger now that we've played at UDub, so I tell you what, Petey--the folks up top and on the ground level, we're all real excited about the new rink opening and getting back to that professional level arena. And, of course, boss asks me what we should do for the big opening night excitements, right, and I've got no ideas--but then it hits me. Why not pay a little homage to the folks that took us in when the city council and the contractors wanted to play hardball with a bunch of sorry shits like us, right? So for opening night--the first thousand fans that come in are getting a custom University of Washington Argonauts towel and we're gonna be selling UDub Argos sweaters in the fan shop throughout the game with all the money going to the University sports programs. And lemme tell you, they're absolute banger sweaters. I almost want to get them as our thirds this season, if I can be honest."

Opening night would be theme'd night to attract more attention. It needs to be a random theme though to really get the buzz up and get people talking. So it'll be an "alien" theme. We'll hand out those plastic hair beret with alien antenna sticking out for people to wear. There will be an area for kids where they can be "beamed up" where a camera is hooked up to a computer to make it look like they disappear on the screen. The music will be nothing but the X-Files theme song and songs played on the theremin.

The staff ushers will all be decked out in uniforms to look like the FBI Alien Task Force trying to scan people entering looking for aliens. Then during the intermission we can have a model space ship appear to decend onto the ice surface and have an alien kidnap the mascot and then have the ship go back up into the rafters.

We can build up excitement by having people dressed as aliens wearing the team jersey during the week before the game. They can just be walking in groups downtown and in populated areas to get people talking.

For opening night I have some great ideas in my head. The fans and media need to be amazed and make this grand opening a night they will never forgot. First all major people and VIPs will be picked up in old timer cars. Usually you would see limos, but I think this is more special. We also do not have a red carpet, but the carpet is bright purple. Upon entering there will be loads and loads of fireworks, champagne and belly dancers. I do not know why, but loads of people seem to like them. Also besides the purple carpet we have a big main stage with live acts performing for the fans. Inside there is an open bar with lots of options and snacks. We also have lots of visual effects with big screens showing high light reels of the team of the past few seasons. So there is much to be seen and done.

A month ago, Julian shared his vision on something special for the new arena's opening night. He proposed transforming the arena into a magical winter wonderland, bringing the spirit of outdoor hockey indoors. The team could play their opening game under a starry sky with a shimmering ice rink surrounded by pine trees and falling snowflakes.

The organization was captivated by Julian's vision and immediately began planning the transformation of the arena. They enlisted the help of skilled set designers and lighting experts to bring the winter wonderland to life. Julian's enthusiasm and commitment to the project inspired everyone involved.

On the opening night, the doors of the new arena swung open, revealing a breathtaking scene. The ice glistened, adorned with twinkling lights, and a dome-shaped screen projected a stunning night sky above. The stands were adorned with evergreen trees, giving the impression of an enchanted forest.

By the end of the night, the Monarchs had won the game, but more importantly, they had won the hearts of their fans. Julian's special gimmick had connected the team and the community in a way they had never experienced before.
