I finally watched Kick Ass 2

I enjoyed it like I enjoyed the first one. While I do agree that it wasn't as good as the first one, I still really enjoyed it. Chloe Grace-Moretz is again superb as Hit-Girl and still lots of funny dialogue. Aaron Johnson again is great as Kick Ass, I think Johnson is another underrated up and coming actor as he was awesome in Savages too(probably the only bright spot of that film)

Jim Carrey in his role was surprising, I thought he put out a great performance although I am generally surprised about his actions after doing the film as i felt the "gun violence" wasn't that over the top as he crusaded against.

I am sad that there was very little screen time for Dave/Kick Asses GF from the first film as I think she pretty cute but I can see why she wasn't as big of a role this installment.

Overall I would say its a 7/10 for me. I hope they finish the trilogy though as long as Matthew Vaughn is a part of the development.

I also got a chance to watch Jack Reacher on netflix a couple days ago.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the film. I didn't think much of it but it was pretty enjoyable for me. I'm not a huge Tom Cruise fan anymore but I felt like he did a good job with the role. I did think Rosemund Pike was a bit boring in her role though.

I would give it a 5.5/10

As someone who read the comics, Kickass 2 was fucking garbage. They got nothing right. The ending was 100% changed. The Hit Girl revenge scene is the dumbest thing I've watched in years and nothing like the comics (She hung the girl over the side of the school).

I ranted for over an hour to my buddy after watching it because it's a disgrace to the comics.

As someone who hasn't read any of the comics, I don't take it too seriously. Just like I took the first Kick Ass as not that serious. I usually take both the films as a Action Comedy. I find the comedy part to be more heightened with these films because of the fact its not a Batman film, its not an Avengers. It's still a film about teenage superheroes without any real superpowers (unlike ie: Spiderman series)

In a way you have to separate the comics and the films itself because its not going to perfect and exact to the comics. I don't think the general audience and tbh the studios don't care about the smaller groups of the comic readers, they care about the general audience and I don't think the general audience would enjoy one of the films "good guys(err girl) hanging a girl over the side of the school. They would more enjoy and laugh at a short scene of a girl getting revenge by making their rival throw up and shit themselves, not hanging them over the school.

I saw a pretty truthful meme a couple days and I feel like its completely true:

While it's not apropos for a comic book, I feel it still fits because well if things were perfect to the comic book, then you as a reader of the comic would know exactly what happens and the end. It would be worthless for you to watch.

Not saying they should have done that scene, but to have a scene where the hero makes them shit and puke? That's just stupid.

I don't think it should be exactly like the books, but I still think there should be some sort of connection. The first Kickass did it perfect. The only real big difference is that the love interest falls for him in the movie and does the exact opposite in the book. That's how it should have been done. Kickass 2 though went completely opposite. I'd suggest looking up the plot for the comic and you'll see what I mean. If you're going to build it up as a comic book movie that is supposed to follow it's source material, I personally expect it to follow at least to some degree.

Funny enough after watching the first one I didn't even know it was based on a comic lol. I just enjoyed the film, same with the second but I can understand your point of view as a comic reader.

Why not? Rocky Balboa vs Jack Lamotta (I know it's not actually them fighting lol) is pretty fun for dumb entertainment. And I like Kevin Hart

Only reason I'm questioning it is because it sounds as if you want to see it in theaters. No way it is worth it. I'd wait until the dvd comes out.

If you enjoy hearing the F-Word, for a count of 544 uses, you will love Wolf Of Wall Street.
