Honestly I am very much opposed to the idea of contract automatically going up just because a player is active and developing. I guess we can toss negotiations out the window as said by some already here. Also why does someone with 1500 TPE actually need 5M a season? This just penalizes teams that have full active rosters that want to stick together for awhile.

I think these two things pretty much sum up my thoughts on the matter.

I think the cap already has an impact, even if it may not have as much of an impact as people want. If anything, maybe consider not making these changes and just adjusting how high the cap is? It would probably cause the desired results without getting rid of contract negotiations altogether.
