Rivalries are hard to come by in the SMJHL for some teams but if there ever was a rival for the St. Louis Scarecrows after last season it would be the Detroit Falcons. While the Scarecrows prepare for any game with confidence and determination theres nothing like the preparation that goes into the first cup finals rematch of the season. While most games are handled with respect the same can't be said for the Scarecrows and Falcons. St. Louis was ready to prove that the finals last season was just a fluke jumping out to a 3 goal lead by the end of the first led by 2 assists from Tigole Bitties. This would not be enough for St. Louis though. After a pair of goals by Detroit closed the gap St. Louis put it away for good in the third period ensuring a 4-2 victory and payback of sorts for last years finals. The match also saw 12 penalties between the 2 teams led again by Tigole Bitties who was out to prove that his new team is better this year. Bitties would receive a 5 min major for fighting and a game misconduct for instigating. In our next match against Detroit the next night he would receive another 5 min major for fighting after beating down one of the Falcons in route to another victory. While Detroit might have come out on top last season, this season will definitely be the year of the Scarecrow as we strike fear into anyone who gets in our way.
