In the SMJHJ, rivalries may be hard to come by and difficult to form. This is due to the call up of players to the SHL every season. However, if the St. Louis Scarecrows ever had a rivalry, it is most definitely the Detroit Falcons. Although every game is important to the Scarecrows, games against the falcons have a whole different feel. After the game six lost in the Four Star Cup Finals last year, the Scarecrows have come with a vengeance in every game against the Falcons. The first game between the two teams this season was a wild one, ending in a 4-2 Scarecrows win. The Scarecrows came out strong, taking a quick 3 to nothing lead. However, the Falcons stormed back and closed the lead by scoring two goals, making it 3-2. In the end, the Scarecrows ended up putting the game away in the third period, extending their lead to two goals. The most notable performance was by St Louis Scarecrows player Tigole Bitties. Bitties racked up 2 assists, a fight, and a game misconduct. After this performance, Bitties was named “The Falcon Killer”. In the next game between the Scarecrows and the Falcons, The Falcon Killer followed up his performance and stuck to his nickname by getting in another fight and beating a Falcon player with a crushing right hook en route to another Scarecrow victory. Even though the Falcons won last year, the Scarecrows are out to prove to the league that they are the real deal.
