Kelowna Knights

After a very successful pre-season showing, the Kelowna Knights had many fans excited for the future and the present. While they had a great core group of returnees, they also looked to have hit on a number of top prospects in the draft as well. The Knights showed great teamwork and talent as they finished a top the standings in the beginning of the season as well.

However, as time went on and the results started to balance out, it became clear; Kelowna just wasn't ready yet. At the mid-season mark they had dropped out of playoff contention, and seemingly have given up on that idea as they shipped out captain and leading scorer John Langabeer to the St. Louis Scarecrows for a few draft picks.

Mike Izzy has taken the reigns as top talent of the forward core, as he now leads the team in points, and has been their leader on and off the ice since the departure of captain Langabeer. The rest of the season will likely be dedicated to development and preparation for the next season. It's a shame to think they have given up on the season, but at the same time it is more realistic and offers them a better shot at the cup in the future.
