Got to say, took some time to come up with this one. But if I'm choosing a player to model after, its going to be someone who can dominate in both ends of the rink. Therefore, I decided to say <a href='index.php?showuser=1643' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Ballerstorm</a>'s Randy Randleman (not the least because of his impressive awards cabinet).

Randleman is a left wing, the same as my build. His strengths are in Scoring, Skating and Defense. That's almost the same as my strengths in Scoring, Endurance and Defense. Both of our weaknesses is checking. His ability to reach such success is due, in my opinion, to his incredibly even build (90's across the board and 99's in strengths). That's the kind of build I want to eventually emulate.

What's really impressive, to me, is that he's been working on his checking as a weakness and now boasts a 73 rating and is fifth in the SHL in hits. In combination with his 24 goals to lead the league, Randleman has shown he's a force to be reckoned with in every zone. Let alone the 5 game winning goals and the 2 short-handed goals. There doesn't seem to be a situation Randleman can't influence. That ability to spread the build, while maximizing your strengths, seems to be the key to his success.

It seems like it will be a tall order to match <a href='index.php?showuser=1643' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Ballerstorm</a>'s success, but his player provides a model of what I want to attempt to do.
