My first SMJHL goal came in the 3rd game of the season against the Montreal Militia. It came sooner than i had expected, but it came just as it was needed.

It was scored on the powerplay in the first period. We were already up by one but this was an insurance goal. Brett Jones had been called for tripping and it was our time to shine. I was awarded some PP time on the second line, despite not being a very offensive player. I did hwoever have a pretty good shot, my passing abilities were less than good though. The goal wasn't much to talk about really, i give most of the credit to Stephens and Lindqvist who opened up the space for me and pretty much gave me a wide open net. I was going to celebrate by throwing my glove up in the air and use my stick to shoot it, giving the impression that i sniped it. However i dropped my stick when i was changing my grip so it ended up just being me throwing my glove around and dropping my stick. I still cringe when i look at the replay...I got the goal though and it ended up being the Game Winner! So i will always treasure it, no matter how embarrassing it was.
