I finished the year with 207 shot blocks, 47 takeaways, and 104 hits. In addition to elite level defensive stats I managed to pot 23 points on the season which was good for third place on the Baltimore Platoon. Unfortunately I still was producing under the level I should be with a 97.9 PDO. As with every season I strive to be named among the best defenders in the league so I won’t be able to say if I met my personal goal for the season. I am happy with my numbers but the Bojo remains the goal for me. I can attribute my success this year to management putting me in a leadership position. Without the faith that Baltimore puts in me I would not be able to play at the level I am currently. Next season it will be more of the same. I will continue my strong defensive play while trying to contribute even more offensively. Maybe I can finally find my scoring touch after 12 seasons. (180) Code: 3. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) If you want to make something dumber you came to the right man. Off the bat you flip the play in. The best teams have to play in for the chance at the real playoffs. The worst teams get a bye week. After that, we reseed by record again. Teams one through four get thrown into group A and five through eight go in group B. To further dumb this shit up the team with a lower seeding only needs to win three games rather than the four that the higher seed needs. Then after a grueling playoffs the winner of the playoffs has to play a gauntlet against all the teams that failed to make the playoffs one after the other. If the champion to be team does not win each game in regulation the entire playoffs begins again with the champion to be going to seed number 1 if they weren’t previously. Only the strong survive. So, that should automatically take every city with interesting nightlife off the list. We want our players, management, and officials to be in the bubble with nothing to entice them out. We’ve got to throw them somewhere with facilities but not much else. Seeing that 13 of the 18 SHL teams are based in America it would make the most sense to keep the bubble in the States (let’s pretend things will get better). With all that in mind we set up in Maine. We use the Timber’s facilities which while not SHL caliber will be enough to facilitate the playoffs continuing with no problem. As far as the States go, Maine has better COVID numbers than most and because like 99% of the state is forest there wouldn’t be much to worry about on that front. Everyone would have no choice but to eat, drink, sleep, and breathe SHL playoffs. Once eliminated, teams could hang out in Portland which is a pretty killer city. (185) Code: 5. That being said, I think that it is a safe bet to expect that the teams that lead last year’s tournament will do the same this year. Great Britain looks to be the team to beat after their excellent showing last year. Team Canada is probably the only squad that could possibly threaten the possibility of a repeat. On the other end I sadly expect Latvia to be the worst team in the tournament again. Things are trending toward getting better. The last few seasons have seen some key transfers come in but after a tampering issue going into the tournament Latvia lost a spot for transfer. For most of the small nations it will be an uphill battle to climb back to the top of the IIHF. We will probably see another excellent defensive showing from Nat Emerson though so at least Latvian fans have that to look forward to. (175) Code: 16.
