Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season? I was pretty happy about my performance in regular season. I played all 66 games and scored 14+33=47 points. I tried to get 50 points but didn't quite crossed that limit. It was fine because our team won regular season title. As a two-way winger I was 22nd in scoring so it was a good thing. My plus-minus rating +30 was 13rd best in the whole league. I am also happy about my takeaway-giveaway difference (37-18) +19. There was only one forward Taisto Jutila who had better difference +23. However, in the playoffs I wasn't able to help the team win in a TOP6 role and that hurts a lot. I scored only 1+3 in 13 games. That is just way too low amount of points for a TOP6 winger even though I bring also some defensive specialty into our line-up. I wasn't good enough in the most important games and that is something what needs to change next year. Words: 160 2. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) Create a new skater or goalie role for FHM. In what scenarios is this new player role best utilized? What attributes are considered important attributes to this new role, and why? Which attribute is the key one? Very interesting question. My idea would be to create a playoff goalie role. If you create a goalie with this role, you accept that your goalie will always be trash during regular season but in the playoffs his standards would rise a lot. Most important attributes would be mental toughness, stamina, determination and professionalism. If you create a playoff role, then you would be forced to use almost all your points to those mental ratings and goalie ratings (blocker, glove, rebounds etc.) would be a maximum of 7. After two seasons on SMJHL you would be able to spend more points on goalie attributes but until then you could only boost your mental ratings. Words: 114 3. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Over the offseason your player is getting involved in some charitable causes. What is your player/team doing around the community/for charity this offseason? As a part of Quebec City Citadelles I would participate in an event where the staff and players would organize a charity event around sports theme. We would create a running event and collect some money alongside that to poor people. Companies and rich people would have a chance to run together 5 kilometres with for example MVP Zdenko Beranek, superstar center Jst Maro or fighting king Petrov. They could talk 30 minutes with their favourite players and that way we could bring fans closer to the team and make charity alonside that. There would be also auction in the evening together with dinner party. Companies could buy some game-worn jerseys and other QCC stuff with players's signatures. They could also buy selfies with their favourite players. The final climax in the event would be a live band which would play some good music and after that the event would be over. Everyone would go to home some positive memories for sure. Words: 161 5. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) Which SHL or SMJHL team was the best team to not make the finals this season and why? Well, this was an easy task to answer. Of course Quebec City Citadelles who the regular season in SMJHL. They won 49/66 matches with a goal difference of +102. Without nine overtime losses Citadelles would have won a magical 50+ games. Unfortunately in the playoffs Armada were better team in the semifinals in seven games. Citadelles also lead that series 3-2 and was up 2-0 six minutes before the end of game six but Armada made a comeback and won the series. It was almost perfect regular season from Quebec City and that's why they were the best team to not make finals this season. The story reminded a little bit about Tampa Bay Lightning who won the regular season in the NHL with 62 wins two years ago but then lost in the playoffs against Columbus. Words: 138 6. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players? I predict like every year that big hockey countries will win the medals. I am confident that Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden and Russia will be the teams to beat. I don't have any faith to British Isles or Ireland because they just don't have hockey culture. Same words can be said about Japan or Austria. Germany and Switzerland will be dark horses probably. Latvia's fans are always great so maybe they can cheer their team to some success. Norway is a borderline qualifier. Czech Republic is a mystery teams who can win the whole thing or be in a relegation battle, you never know. My medal prediction is Canada, USA and Finland because there is always at least one European country on the medals. I don't want to name any players who will have good tournament because ice-hockey is a team sport more than anything else and it would be crazy to predict any top performers from individuals without knowing exact line-ups and power-play setups from every team. That's why I will pass player predictions but stick with my team predictions. Words: 181 15. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer.
