You may think I'm a little biased, but the biggest storyline coming out of this season is how Barrett Blackwood is number two in scoring thus far. With 19 goals and 31 assists, he has scored 50 points in just 36 games this year. That puts him currently on pace for over 80 points, which would easily eclipse his career high of 70 from last season. While it is unlikely he goes over 30 goals for a second consecutive season, it is his passing and the accuracy of his teammates that has carried him to his spot on the league stat sheet. Blackwood's career high for assists in a season is 38, set last year in 66 games. As we stand today, with 30 games left to play, he needs only 8 assists to set a new career high. For a player that has never quite lived up to his first round hype, it seems like something may have finally clicked for the veteran winger.
