PBE PT - 3 TPE
1. pee - Victor Helstrom - 3 TPE 2. 3 TPE I'm gonna go with the S50 SHL Finals. We had the Tampa Bay Barracuda vs the Calgary Dragons. It was a deep playoff run for both teams and the Cudas took an early lead going up 3-0 in the series. Then they watched as slowly each game they fell until it was complete, and Calgary had reverse swept the young Cudas. This was a huge momentum killer for the Cudas in the seasons following and eventually they would end up selling off all their big pieces and go into a long rebuild following the swap to FHM. I think if the Cudas had won that finals and not gotten reverse swept, they may have been able to keep up some motivation and momentum into the following seasons and not gone for a rebuild. Who knows, maybe the team would have kept aggressively pushing further and further, buying at the deadline and trying to bolster their roster for more championships. 11a. 2 TPE Well, if I'm gonna be honest the MVP of the series is gonna be Jobin. I mean, putting up a .940 save % in the playoffs overall and only giving up 29 goals in 19 games the whole playoffs, that's gotta be one of the most impressive things I've seen. He really was a brick wall for all of those games and did not let his team down when they needed him most. I mean come on, FIVE shutouts? Absolutely ridiculous. An incredible performance by the Steelhawks netminder and certainly one that will not be forgotten for many, many seasons to come here in the SHL. 12. Milestones - 3 TPE 15. 2 TPE My prediction for this season's IIHF tournament is that Great Britain will take home the gold baby. Come on, you know that the powerhouse of Europe will end up inevitably taking the W in the finals of the tournament. We've got studs like Tom Fiddler, James Ronlain, Jimmy Slothface, Rex Kirkby, and countless others I fail to name here. Great Britain is just stacked, plain and simple. We've got a real good shot at taking the gold and I think we're gonna do it. As for second and third place? Well, who cares? Team Great Britain is the only team that matters and we're gonna take home that gold medal. |
