Collin Gibbles has been through 24 different opening nights in his time playing for the Minnesota Monarchs. With all of his vast experience it was no surprise that the team management wanted to get his input on what would make the next seasons opening day even more special. Gibbles was able to work out a deal with local food vendors that he partners with for charity to do a special $2 burger, hotdog, and cider night at the new arena. Along with the special food offerings for opening night, there would be a game worn jersey giveaway. Random tickets sold would be visited midgame by a member of the organization to come to the ice after the game and receive a jersey worn that night by the players. And to cap it all off, after the game, the arena roof will open up to reveal a special fireworks display to celebrate opening night.
