The easy answer to this is Iceland. I mean especially coming off their performance made famous in the instant classic D2: The Mighty Ducks. I think we can get Wolf ‘The Dentist’ Stansson back in the mix and have him lead a group to the championship. How could you not root for a redemption story based around a beleaguered coach who was embarrassed in front of the world at the incredibly popular Junior Goodwill Games. After absolutely choking away the championship there to a less than stellar opponent and allowing a goal from the other end of the ice, it is time for the Dentist to start his comeback story. There is no better place for that story to begin than in the SHL IIHF. It would be great to have that powerhouse added into an already incredible group of countries and add more to the competition of a very fun off-season event.
