A For me, it is exciting to see the Edmonton Blizzard come out of the West and make it to the finals. They may have knocked off my Panthers, but they earned their position, and it’s good to see them in the race for the championship once again. Winnipeg did good, but Edmonton proved it’s their time.
B I guess when the question is presented like this, I would like to see the new team win it. I have respect for the Forge and it would be cool to see them win it, but a newer team that hasn’t won in a while is exciting and thus, they have my support.
C Once again, I’d say Edmonton. Edmonton won in 5 games, whereas, the Forge had to go to game 6 to win the Eastern Finals. Edmonton’s performance in the conference finals was just more impressive and it led to them winning the whole thing. It was close since neither team got a sweep, but Edmonton gets the nod here as more impressive.
D Edmonton is hungrier, in my opinion. They haven’t been to this stage in a while so they have more to prove. Everyone knows Philadelphia is capable of picking up a championship win. So with more to prove, Edmonton wins because they are more motivated and winning would mean more to that franchise.

Picking Edmonton as they are the new kids on the block of the cup contender scene. It’s been a little while since Edmonton has reached this point. They are going to have to rely on this defense to get them the trophy. Historically, people have echoed that defense wins championships and I believe that holds true. Will it in this series? That’s not guaranteed. The Forge are a lethal team. The most lethal in the Eastern Conference. That is going to prove a challenge for the Philadelphia Forge. How will they overcome the Forge’s offense? Likely by leaning on Emil Egli, Louise St. Martin, and crew. These players will help prevent the Forge from running wild on Justin Time. Time will definitely appreciate the help from the back end of the Blizzard. If Edmonton can play their game and shore up the defense, they are going to be able to squeak out the win over the Philadelphia Forge.


Edmonton was able to rely on Oles Kobliska, Benjamin Surhki-Ze’ev and Evan Winter, among many others, to lead them to victory. They were never really pressured during the playoffs. This was the best team of the post-season and they took home the well deserved trophy. Justin Time finished the playoffs with a 2.86 goals against average and a 0.908 save percentage. This led the Blizzard to the promised land and allowed them to get past the Philadelphia Forge. Strong defensive play from Luke Laraque helped too who had a 77 defensive game rating during the playoffs. Luca Hunziker really helped shore up the defense of Edmonton.
