13. Superstitious
Ju-gong is by no means a very superstitious individual, thinking that everything will play out as they are meant to, given who has worked the hardest and has the best team work ethic. However, back from their days in playing in the local Busan hockey leagues, he has picked up something of a post-season tradition, something his team would do back before their playoff games back home. Before each game, each player would declare someone or something they are playing in honor of that game. In Busan, they’d each go in turn and take a drink or shot just before the contest. In Quebec it looks a little different, no large group, no alcohol – Just Ju-gong asking one of their defenseman who they’re playing for tonight, telling them back his answer, before having a spray of water to complete the little tradition. 14. R&R While still in the midst of a chase for a championship, Ju-gong already has a ticket booked back to South Korea for the offseason. While all focus during the day has been on improving with QCC to achieve their goals, it wouldn’t be off to say that a little bit of homesickness has set in. Having never been outside of Korea for more than a few weeks before, this last season has been a bit of an off the ice test as well. While the frequent calls back home are nice, they always occur at the crack of dawn or early into the night due to time zones. Not only that, but the bitter Canadian cold has made the hot and humid climate back home far more appealing than it ever had been before. Sadly the trip back home will be short lived, as Ju-gong has been instructed to be in attendance for the SHL draft. 15. Charity Drive Coming from an extremely humble home, Ju-gong has perfect attendance on charity events the team has invited him to. From helping sort food donations during the holiday season, to signing game-worn equipment in order to auction off for charitable causes, nothing is too much or too little. This extends well past the public events as well, as having one’s name associated the act is never truly the goal. For the New Years, Ju-gong anonymously donated parts of his paychecks to give bonuses to staff and employees at some of his favorite local restaurants and spots to visit. Given the sudden wealth quickly finding its way into his pockets, Ju-gong is all too happy to share the excess to help those in need. 16. Goals Obviously the goal with QCC is to keep competing for four-star cups, team achievements are always greater than individual ones, and managing to win a final would be a great reward for such a fun locker room, whether it be this season, or just before the end of this groups run, once would be amazing. If not, having fun and playing good hockey are the next in line, along with potentially earning some success with individual awards as well as the making some noise at the WJC. At the moment, I fully plan to get Ju-gong towards the 2k area in TPE, despite being a goalie and the memes, it increases career longevity and is a rewarding process to pursue. In the SHL, I assume goals will be the same, hopefully starting a lot of games, competing for cups, and having a great time. 17. Feedback First Gen – I think PT was for the most part good. I enjoy writing prompts and honestly wouldn’t have minded one bit if they were even longer or more in depth. In terms of room for improvement, I’d say clear communication and doing things on schedule would be the only issues. PT’s staying open longer than expected to the point they push back the next is something I noticed and made planning them a bit irksome. But if by chance they were meant to go past the deadlines, just knowing that that’s part of the plan would be nice. It felt reliable, but rather unpredictable when things would actually happen. That said, I greatly appreciate all staff efforts to managing everything, and would like to pass along thanks to all the teams that are trying to juggle such a large project! 18.
