+3 for milestones claimed.
Prompt 2 (257 words, 5 tpe) - I look at Colorado, a team currently in the finals, who are losing only a couple of inactive players to age this season, and I think we don't need a heck of a lot. In a draft you always want to pick up the stars of tomorrow, but right now we're smack in our window. We've got a great chance to win it all for the next 3 or 4 seasons, so more than anything we probably want impact guys. If you could point to any weakness for us it's likely on our defensive end. We love scoring but we've had a hard time slowing down opponents this season. So if we're looking to fill positions that could contribute quickly it'd likely be some new up and coming defenders that can assist the guys that we have in shutting down the game in our own end. We may also be looking for our next big goalie-- someone that Pitts can mentor during their last few seasons with the squad. I guess what I'm getting at is that I don't see a ton of positional need for the Raptors at the moment. What we need is hungry young guys that can take up the mantle and keep this train rolling as our current squad ages out in 2-3 seasons time. If we don't want to hit a downward trajectory/rebuild after this window, then we gotta have a never ending stream of talent moving in, getting mentored, and then turning around and doing the same down the line. Prompt 4 (224 words, 4 tpe) - As the newly minted Ambassador of Fun I'll be mandating high speed internet cubicles be installed on team busses and planes that allow us to do World of Warcraft raids together in our off time. This serves dual purposes as both mandatory fun, and team building exercises. If we can learn to work together in Azeroth, we can learn to work together on the rink. You might think "Playing World of Wacraft and hockey all day? How could you have any more fun?" well dear reader we're going to have a little bit more fun by serving the community. Yes, we will also be taking weekly trips to the highways of Denver where we'll be picking up trash and shaking hands with community members. This might not seem fun, but it actually is. It's fun to have a sense of civic duty, and it's fun to get to know your neighbours. A well rounded individual makes for a great hockey player, and you always have to remember where you came from. No big headedness or egos here, we're picking up trash so that we remember how blessed we are to play hockey at a high level like this. You're going to be a part of the community whether you like it or not, comrade. It will be fun, whether you like it or not! Prompt 7 (161 words, 3 tpe) - I'd be being a pretty silly goose if I didn't say that Colorado has a good chance of winning this one. The team is really vibing right now, we're on a huge hot streak, and we're all out there looking out for eachother. This is a team through and through that's having fun and might just bag a championship while they're at it. Coaching, offense, defense, goaltending, our fans-- everything this season is clicking like magic. Our strength all year has been goal scoring and we're still seeing that through the playoffs and through these grinds of series'. Hell we qualified for the finals in an 8-4 win. Maine is a damn good team and they sure weren't going to roll over and let us advance, so to pot 8 in that game just speaks wonders of our offense. If we can keep that rolling it's going to be mighty hard for Detroit to put a stop to the S74 Raptors. Prompt 12 (77 words, 1 tpe) - I think Pinli is a great pick for both his locker room presence and his excellent rookie showing with the Rapors. 46 points and nearly 30 goals in his first ever professional season is nothing to sneeze at, and it shows a determination and willingness to get into the hard areas of the rink even while being undersized. As Pinli gets stronger and faster with age, he's going to be a formidible offensive force on the ice. TPE Earned: 16/16 ![]() |
