1. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1.5 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer.
Clueless 2 a. (1 TPE) In a rematch of the season 72 finals we have the Wolfpack vs the Aurora. Whats not to be impressed with. Both teams have proven to have longevity but also were in the semi finals both the season in between. The most impressive feat is Winnipeg has been to the finals every season since 69 missing just the one year b (1 TPE) Looking back on this last seasons playoffs it definitely was a season of upsets but by far New England had the tougher road to the championship. After winning the first round against 13 ranked Hamilton, the 10th seeded Wolfpack then had to go through #2 Buffalo and #3 Philadelphia, before facing #10 Winnipeg in the finals. c. (1 TPE) Well obviously the New England Wolfpack with a 4-2 series victory over the heavily favored #2 ranked Philadelphia Forge would be the most impressive Conference Finals. That’s not to take away from Winnipeg’s impressive run through the playoffs but New England’s path would seem much tougher on paper by far d. (1 TPE) Well my heart says Winnipeg wins, just based on the fact of the success longevity that they have had since season 69, but head brain says New England just based on the quality of the teams that they have gone through. The fact that they have gone through the stronger teams should mean they have the momentum on their sides. So my final guess is New England over Winnipeg 5 (3 TPE) If I had to be completely honest the most impressive series would have to be the complete shock of the Pride knocking off the Blizzard in 6 games. To start with the looks if the regular season standings the points difference between the Blizzard with 105 points and the Pride with 67 points is a David vs Goliath battle of the ages. That is a 38 point difference which is absolutely massive. To go to the playoffs and have the Pride win 4 out of 6 games, sure two of their victories were in OT, but two of them were by combined goal differential of 8 goals which is pretty large( 7-2 and 5-2). The series was 100% a battle and the Pride earned every single game that they won through sheer determination and grit. I am sure it is not what the Blizzard had expected, as I am sure they waltzed in thinking it was going to be a cake walk, especially after sweeping Minnesota in 4 straight the round previous. |
