I wouldn't say that Jay likes the attention that he gets from fans, he's always been kind of a quite and introverted person so strangers talking to him has always been a weird feeling for him. That being said, Jay understands the reality of the situation, that he would be nothing without the fans. Their fandom pays his salary and makes it so he can play the game that he loves for a living, keeping fans happy is all part of the job. Jay won't go out of his way to talk to fans but whenever someone comes up to him he's more than happy to sign a few jerseys or have a chat with them. Not only that but he'll be enthusiastic about it, fans are important to him and he wants to make sure that they know that. He'll even do the occasional signing or meet and great if management wants to twist his arm but only during the offseason.
