The pre-playoff traditions around Montreal don’t really exist, given that the vast majority of the group have yet to play in the SHL playoffs. Only those who have come from other teams have that wealth of experience behind them, and as such, the team would certainly look for extra leadership from those players. However, Ju-gong had plenty of trial runs with the post-season in Quebec, and not just a few games, but enough to make him the leader in team history in playoffs wins. He’s been in a Four Star Cup final as the starter, and also guarded the net in three other conference final series. Given all of that early postseason experience, along with being the Captain of the current day Patriotes, Ju-gong too would be a leader for the group heading down the stretch. That said, nothing about the practice should change at all. Championship mentality is something you practice each and every day, not something you start just before the playoffs begin. Thus, he would simply help make sure his teammates stay locked in, and down get high on the new expectations the media has been assigning them. |
