Written Option 2:
As Vancouver battles it out in a stacked Northern conference, the young group of players are doing everything they can to gain any sort of edge going into the postseason. Marshal isn't one for many words, and the rambunctious locker room looks to him to lead by example on the ice rather than give pep talks or hype the team up pre game. As the season has gone on, Marshal has embraced his role as a 2 way playmaker, and as of late has really leaned into the 2 way side. Extra energy on the ice, whether it be hustling to loose pucks, diving in front of shots, aggressive backchecking, or laying out a massive hit in the defensive zone, Marshal has found ways to invigorate the Whalers defensively. The Whalers 2nd line, which has excelled offensively but been a net negative on the season, finally hit a positive +/- in the Whalers latest win streak. Marshal knows that defense wins championships, and that if the Whalers are going to compete in the playoffs against this brutal Northern conference, he and the team need to be at their best. |
