Do you think they could have made it to the finals if they were in a different division? My knee-jerk reaction was San Francisco, but I think it may actually have been Tampa Bay now that I look at the brackets. SFP's biggest hurdle has always been in the first round, whereas from what I can glean TBB went through a gauntlet. They had two series go to 7 games, and the other two went to six. That said, I do think SFP has the nightmare division right now, and that the western conference is the stronger of the two (for now). So in this hypothetical, SFP would likely make it through the east, and TBB would have a much harder time, though I do still believe they'd make it. Code: 3. The duo of Dominik Winters and Logan Webb currently lead SFP in scoring this postseason and have been top 10 in SHL scoring for the past three seasons. What makes them so special, and what does it mean for them to stay on top as a duo rather than a single successful player? Those two are basically attached at the hip, so it shouldn't be a surprise that every season they put in results in something special. I remember when "The Kid Line" debuted in San Francisco and how the trio that includes other key player Levin Schattenaxt were obviously building something great together. While Vik/Oskar have always had a bit of a rotating cast on the other wing, those three have never played apart in the SHL. Chemistry definitely plays a part in their on-ice performance, but I honestly think they just brought the power of friendship and infected the entire team with it. It's canon now that I've said it. Code: 5. 8 of the top 10 players by TPE on SFP are forwards, meanwhile 4 of the 6 TBB Defensemen are part of the top 10 players by TPE. Do you think it’s more important to have a core of powerful forwards or a core of incredible defensemen? FHM-wise, unfortunately, it's more important to have a good core of forwards. Outscore all of your problems, and you too can win cups. But I'm hoping with the shift to FHM 10 (I could be coping) that I'll get to say a great defensive core is more essential. TBB's d-core is positively terrifying, and I wish the game engine would do them real justice accordingly. |
