The server is still up? Good.
Ok, I am writing this entry to myself because I can't no longer hide the fact that everything was just a lie. I lived a good life. A successful one even. But this is hard to swallow. I am just a simulation. Everything is just a dream. My mere existence is based on 0 and 1s. While I am writing this, I could have died several times, and also could have been born as a new player, that is a copy of myself and behaves the exact same way. I was hesitant to ask what happened when I saw there are people from outer space here, but it was just normal. So not sure what I should have expected. Well, now it is the truth. I had fears about it, and it's a little funny that it is the way it is. Because why should I have fears about it, if everything is just a lie? Paradox. Are the servers still up? Good. Not sure why I even bother. Am I gone if they go down or am I just respawning once they are running again? ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak Code: PROMPT 1: Your player has come to a horrible realization - they are a fictional entity that exists only on a website for hockey nerds, and now have to come to terms with the truth of their existence. DuBølk has known about this conundrum for centuries and has simply accepted the fact that he is under the will of his creator, myself. He understands that he is in charge of everything, including the times he gets.to.use the restroom, and even when he gets to interact with anyone else. Further, he understands that his fate is looking grim if his creator's track record is believed. He cannot run from him, so he tried moving around frequently to "lose him," but no matter what he did, neither his creator nor the hallucinations of him have ever left. He continues to fight for peace and quiet against these thoughts, and has successfully gathered players to potentially seal away his creator using a spell book he found from a reliable source (i.e., a guy on the side of the road). These spells didn't work, since they were bogus, and nothing can truly be sealed away forever. ![]() Graphic Graders Posting Freak
P2: It was my nutritional advisor that informed me of this make believe sim hockey league. He said it was some sort of dungeons and dragons sports type thing. I'm not gonna lie, I have never played dungeons and dragons. I know it has something to do with devil worship, which sounds kinda badass in my opinion. So I looked up this website cause if anyone is using my name and likeness it better be true to me. I don't want some dork making a lame copy of me like all those SHL23 douche bags. So I was happy to find that just like me this user made me the toughest and highest ranked fighter in the entire league. So I went to checkout my stats in the few seasons that the player of me had been in existence. I was pissed to see that even though I had the highest fighting rank, I had only been in 3 fights in 4 years. What kind of lame ass hockey game doesn't have fighting. Once I found that out I wrote a cease and desist letter to the league.

As Erikson comes to this realization, moments from his past come to haunt him. No wonder he's always seemed like the main character of his life, it's all been written, for these sick fans of a virtual sport. Watching non-existent players compete for a virtual trophy. Oh, who is he to judge. He has no existence without these nerds. He thinks back on his life, but now that he realized, he doesn't have much memories. He knows he was a mom/dad, or atleast he think he does. When was the last time he talked to them? His existence is a lie. He still loves the game of hockey. But it feels like he didn't work for anything. He hasn't gone through hardship. Wait, what about his teamates? Are they AI too? He has to put a stop to this. Change everyone's life. Make a change in SHL, a good one. It's time. ![]() Bank Manager Posting Freak
P2- Tony soprano is use to fans and people using his name and likeness so when I found about this I didn’t really mind. Honestly it amused me a little and got ky curiosity peaked. So one late night after an eventful day at the Bing, I hopped on the site to see what was going on. The site seemed pretty interesting and this got me thinking, who was this fan using my name. I did some research and got in contact with a said fan and we got to talking. After some back and forth, turns out his guy is pretty cool. I invited him to out to come visit me, and we our going to spend some time together. I’m not sure what my plans with him but I think we’ll get him the authenic experience and see if he still is a fan. If so maybe we can put him to some good use.

Hai Nam Hoang always appreciates his fans' ways of paying homage to him in games and other sites. Though he winces at social media losers creating fake accounts to impersonate him (which he stays on top of, when it crops up), he can't help but feel that the harmless use of his name and likeness is simply pleasant admiration. A form of flattery, commonly and unfortunately-negatively-referenced as imitation. Hoang is not a bitter person, and he doesn't think that people are going to use his likeness for the wrong reasons, to do things out of pocket that ends up biting him while he ends up with the short end of the stick. Trouble will be dealt with when it comes. Let the kids and the nerds have their computer version of him. It's all ones and zeroes that aren't his stats, as far as he cares. ![]() Registered Member
PROMPT 1: Your player has come to a horrible realization - they are a fictional entity that exists only on a website for hockey nerds, and now have to come to terms with the truth of their existence.
It was a completely normal day. 3 short hours ago I was out, chatting with the team, having fun, and working on building my stamina on ice. The past 2 hours have been an absolute mess. It started when I suddenly woke up in the hospital. I was just talking, laughing, and apparently I just collapsed. The doctors came in and told me that the server had a hiccup and I’d be fine. But I just had to get curious. “What server?” I asked, of course. He responded quite sharply, as if he were offended. Then he broke the news to me. I don’t even remember what he said, I just remember him saying something about the server I live in. A website, not too far off of those forums I visit every so often detailing how to do so and so exercise to train. And I apparently live in one. And so does every single person I know, ever have known, ever have seen, every single person to exist. And it’s all on a server. If it fails, if it disconnects, anything, and doesn’t come back, that’s it. No second chances. It’ll be over. Apparently some hockey crazed nerd created me, and all memories I have from before then don’t exist, they were all made the second I was created. That’s what I’ve had to deal with the past few hours. I guess I should cope with it at some point, stay on top of whatever I have to deal with next, but it’s terrifying to know that I could suddenly drop dead, along with everyone else, and I’d never know it. As for right now, I guess I should hope that the guy who created me is somewhat competent and not a total psycho. Got kind of carried away again, 296 words not including the prompt or this part.

I had to start making meme type characters so long ago because the thought of being an actual football, baseball, or hockey player was very difficult for me. My first player in the ISFL - Colt Mendoza - started out with Tyler Hall (?) a cornerback from Wyoming as a render before I swapped it to just being the dinosaur emote Moosey made me. Since then I have only had meme characters - Hogmally (a pig in the ISFL), Gator (an alligator in the PBE), and now White (a shark in the SHL). I find it a lot easier to believe this league is a weird take on dungeons and dragons when I'm not being serious with the player. It also makes it much more interesting for me to tune into the SHL - a league I fundamentally don't understand because I don't understand hockey - if I can make jokes about a shark playing hockey. So I guess I've always know that I'm a fictional character?

Tell me how your player came to this realization and how they respond to the knowledge that their existence depends on this site's servers not going down, and their career goals depend mostly on the fourth-dimensional Entity's willingness to keep doing point tasks.
Edžus, being a somewhat intelligent person, realized that because of all the training he does every week. Based on normal logic, he should improve and gain strength each week because of the continuous hard work he puts in, however he just becomes better at random moments. That, paired with a sometimes mechanical behavior that he himself does not control, opened his eyes to the possibility that maybe he was like a Sims for someone else. His reaction to this information, however, was very unconventional, as he got really mad at this Entity for making him that bad in his first two SMJHL seasons. Upon understanding this though, he wondered how many players are controlled not by themselves, but by superior Entities. So that would mean most teammates he knew weren’t actually real players, but perhaps they were controlled!? How could they be freed? And how could he force his own Entity not to go inactive? 155 words ![]() Registered Better than Evok

Your player has either been informed or discovered personally that some nerd-ass fan has created a version of themselves in an online sim league. Marshall Madden has always been a laid-back but nerdy Athlete. He’s always been a gamer, he grew up with his sibling playing games, which always made him want to play them too. He heard of his name being spread around online. When he did, he decided to look up the website that his name was being spread around on. To his surprise, it was about a group of nerds just like him. He decided to create an account and player to see what all the hubbub was about. He quickly found out that the group of people behind his name being spread weren’t malicious, but an amazing group of many different people that would come together every day to have fun and be a community. He reached out to those who were using his name and resemblance and told them that he was glad to know that his face and name were being used to do something good and to make people happy. ![]() Registered S20, S21, S25,S51 Smelly Fart Champion 2.0
It would be weird to find out someone created a exact copy of wide peepo happy 3 koivu in a simulation hockey league and plays for the hamilton steel hawks now, it would be a little bit of likeness abuse as they were saying things in character of wide peepo happy 3 koivu. I think my player would be wide and happy about this as someone would have been able to look up and admire him so much to make a copy and honestly, it probably makes that person happy. I wouldn't create a player to see if I would like to be in the same league as that nerd ass fan and it would be weird having to interact with them. It was great to have one wide peeop happy 3 koivu, it would be weird if there was a 4th one or even another one, as two people making the same name would be weird for the sim engine

Prompt 1:
Once you unplug yourself from the matrix, there's no going back. No matter how hard you try. Darnell woke up one day with the certainty that his life was just a simulation. The classic brain in a vat scenario - essentially, the very essence of solipsism, nothing but the mind can ever truly be considered real, all else could be external stimulus to simulate reality. And once he'd discovered that, well, it's pretty easy to come to terms with, isn't it? If he really is just a brain in a jar, part of a simulation, then what choice does he have but to continue participating in the only life he's ever known? And if there are outside forces pulling on the threads of fate, then his actions aren't his own, and he's following a predetermined path already and the desires and drives he feels day to day are parts of that very same fate. In essence, it doesn't really change anything. Just gotta keep going. ![]() Registered Senior Member
PROMPT 1
It all started on a rainy afternoon. He never did this before, but Kaapo Kampainen decided to google himself. He saw his name on a weird site about simulated hockey and he decided to dig deeper. He saw all the points tasks and noticed that it basically told his life story and all written by a weird man named marco999, who looks like Mermain Man, from Sponge Bob Square Pants. Kaapo Kampainen is deeply disturbed by this revelation. It rocks his world and makes him realise that everything he thought he did was the result of a simulation. All those evenings being mad at himself for missing a shot, or playing badly, it was all for nothing. Then he gets mad at all of this, because the simulation didn't make him really good. I mean sure, he's a decent player, but he never won anything. He turns to his fourth dimension entity master and wonders why he isn't as good as them, even though they basically did all the point tasks during Kaapo's career. 174 words ![]() S71 - Signed a 1 year / 5 M$ extension with the Winnipeg Aurora
