Ranking Goaltenders Legacy Scores

I think it's unfair to weight cups that highly. Some of the best players in sports have never reached the goal of taking the championship. Winning a cup is the ultimate team achievement.

I think playoffs and cups should count ultimately towards the ranking of players. But I don't think they should be weighted as heavily as personal achievements.

I know some will argue that everything a goaltender does is a team achievement. But when you have a guy facing 25 shots on average and winning a cup against a guy who faces an average of 35 shots and comes up short in the previous round. I can't exactly say the best goalie won the cup.
On the other hand, it's shown in the SHL that Cup wins are hard to come by for goalies. Only myself and Tanner have ever won more than two, despite multiple trips to the Finals for a lot of them. It was a long time curse basically, and it's very recent that that ended. So to me, someone able to win a lot of Cups is a very high achievement in the SHL.

I also do believe in records mattering. I think games played/started matters, though that's a personal thing for longevity and I can understand it not factoring in. I feel definitely that playoffs should have a bigger factor, personally. I also think shutouts and playoff shutouts are something that could factor in, as that's very much on the goaltender to stop every shot and that shows skill and success. I am of course going to always be a bit biased in these discussions however, being that I think my records prove me as the best, but others can see otherwise and it's fine. So this is good, I just think some tweaks could be made and some other things could be included.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

I think Cups do matter in regards to goalie rankings. I think there is a difference between rankings and goalies entering the HoF.

I mean for rankings Cups should obviously be considered in propelling one over the other. But for getting into the Hall of Fame, I think they don't have as much precedent.

As for records, I don't think there should be a bonus as we aren't weighting the amount of games played to achieve these records and there are already points given for performance.
