People keep saying that, but why?

We are probably too late into the season now and wouldn't have enough time to prepare things, but if we had started planning for this earlier then I don't see why expansion couldn't have happened next season. It would actually have been the perfect time for it imho, with another potential super draft coming in and people having a lot of time over the summer.

Also I think expansion is OK. If in the future for whatever reason it feels too spread out, we can always go back to 12.

Yeah that was what I was trying to say, but outside of that there isn't really another reason no to expand imho.

Maybe for SHL, but look at how many send downs are on each team in the SMJHL, it has gone up every year. Expansion would benefit the SMJHL and give more rookies opportunities to play and get more ice time.

Expansion would have to take place in the offseason...I see no reason why it's too late for that

With GM apps and then the expansion draft.
But that's natural with any expansion.
