Jakob Tanner, a goaltender, began his career in the SMJHL, like all players do. At the S19 SMJHL Entry Draft, Jakub Tanner had been drafted in the 7th round by the Montreal Impact. He played 1 season with the Impact…

Then came his SHL Draft, the S20 SHL Entry Draft. He was drafted in the Fourth ROund by the Hamilton Steelhawks.

Jakob Tanner spent most of his career with the Hamilton Steelhawks, 10 seasons in fact. In those 10 seasons, Jakob Tanner would win two Challenge Cups as the starter on the Hamilton Steelhawks in both the championship seasons, S26 and S24.

After 10 years with the Hamilton Steelhawks, Jakob Tanner was traded to the New England Wolfpack.
http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showt...hl=Jakob+Tanner

Jakob Tanner would eventually retire with the New England Wolfpack, playing 2 seasons there, and winning two Challenge Cups with the Wolfpack in S30 as the starter, and S31, his final season in the SHL.

Jakob Tanner played 12 seasons in the SHL, and achieved something many SHLers never achieve, win 4 Challenge Cups. Along with that, Tanner had won 241 of the 436 games he played in his SHL Career, recorded a save percentage of .905 and a GAA of 2.599, and has stopped 12077 shots in his 12 seasons. Jakob Tanner is currently the only goaltender to win four Challenge Cups, and holds a record save percentage in one season… in S29, his final season in Hamilton, has a Save Percentage of .926.

Congratulations <a href='index.php?showuser=1269' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-66'>Tanner</a> !

And onto the general managers...

No General Managers were inducted into the SHL Hall Of Fame this year.

Thank you everyone for coming to the SHL Hall Of Fame Ceremony! Took a bit long, sorry, but I hope you enjoyed it... and the facts.

Again, Congratulations Jakob <a href='index.php?showuser=1269' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-66'>Tanner</a> , Adam <a href='index.php?showuser=704' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-59'>Kylrad</a> and Shawn <a href='index.php?showuser=701' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-63'>Velevra</a> . If I were one of you, I'd use my Hall Of Fame bragging rights effectively.

But I'm not, and you are!

I hope everyone enjoyed the ceremony! And my facts!

Shawn Velevra began his career in S11, as a rookie with the Kelowna Knights. His rookie season in the NWJHL/SMJHL was an exciting one for Shawn Velevra, the Knights, with some help from Velevra, won the 4 star cup in S11.

Then came the S12 SHL Entry Draft, a draft which Shawn Velevra was eligible for. Velevra was drafted 5th overall by the West Kendall Platoon. Velevra would play his first SHL Season with the West Kendall Platoon. His first season was S12.
Shawn Velevra put up impressive numbers as a rookie in S12, producing a total of 39 points in 50 games, and as a defenseman.

S12 would be Velevra’s first and last season with the West Kendall Platoon. In the offseason, Shawn Velevra was traded to the Los Angeles Panthers.
http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showt...3475&hl=velevra

Velevra would go on to win the Challenge Cup in S17 with the Panthers.
Shawn Velevra would play 6 seasons with the Panthers, playing 297 games and producing 201 points with the club.

In the S19 Offseason, Velevra was traded to the Texas Renegades: http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showt...ndpost&p=873220
Shawn Velevra would win his 2nd and 3rd Challenge Cups with the Renegades, in S20 and S21.

With the Renegades, he played 7 seasons, producing 281 points in 358 games.
He would play 3&nbsp; seasons with the North Stars afterwards, playing 150 games with the North Stars and producing 90 points with the club, and would retire with the Blizzards in S30, playing 2 seasons with the Blizzards, producing 54 points with the Blizzards. He did not win anymore Challenge Cups.

Shawn Velevra retired in S30, playing with several different teams in his career… with the Platoon, the Panthers, the Renegades, the North Stars and the Blizzard, and would retire with his name written 3 times on the Challenge Cup. Velevra played a total of 953 SHL games through 19 SHL seasons in his career, producing 665 points in that timespan, acquired 937 PIMs, and blocked 1115 shots… that's gonna leave a stain somewhere.

Shawn Velevra is one of the best defenseman to play in the league, and played for quite a long period of time, and won 3 total Challenge Cups, and don’t forget his 1 Four Star Cup, and is also currently [b]10th all time in points by skaters, and 2nd all time in points by a defenseman

Which is why Shawn Velevra is now in the SHL Hall Of Fame! Congratulations <a href='index.php?showuser=701' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-63'>Velevra</a> !

Thanks for the congratulations, everyone, and big props to <a href='index.php?showuser=701' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-63'>Velevra</a> and <a href='index.php?showuser=704' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-59'>Kylrad</a> .. both of whom got locked in pretty damn quickly once the ballots started coming in.

And a HUGE thank you to <a href='index.php?showuser=2397' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Samee</a>. The bios were fantastic, and it honestly made this feel like a much bigger honor than just having the names all listed.
