The Bash Brothers will soon be making a name for themselves in Season 7 of the SHL. “Where are they from,†you might ask. Well, they are from the city of Hamilton and they skate under the Steelhawks banner. And expectations are as high as every in Hamilton. After a great draft to compliment an already up and coming roster, the Steelhawks are ready to make a name for themselves and a dent in the standings. The two players who will be doing most of that denting are Audun Wissink and Jamie Rose. Let’s take a closer look at the two grinders who are ready to make opposing players quake in their skates.
Opposing players, coaches, mascots, and fans better be ready because if not, they’re going to get hit...HARD.
First is the SHL veteran, Audun Wissink. The bulky 6 foot, 200 pound left winger is built perfectly for his grinder and agitator role. He has no problem throwing his weight around and he will do exactly that all season long for the Steelhawks.
A sleeveless shirt and a bandana? Audun Wissink is one, tough baddie.
Last season Wissink led the Steelhawks in PIMS with 141 and was ranked sixth in the SHL in that stat. He also did not shy away from contact registering 99 hits and taking 69 hits of his own. He found the back of the net 7 times and had 8 helpers for a total of 15 points. Where Wissink really shines is in plus minus where he led the team with a +9. The Steelhawks are hoping another year under his belt will help him increase his role even more. Wissink’s true value is as a teammate. He will make sure his teammates are never taken advantage of. If an opposing player wants to throw a dirty elbow or get cute after a whistle, they can be prepared for retaliation by Wissink on behalf of his teammates. And there are very few players in the league who can withstand a taste of the Wissink Whopper to the chin. But that’s only the first Bash Brother, let’s introduce you to the other.
Everyone knows that if you wear eyeblack, you must be tough; and Jamie Rose is tough.
Jamie Rose, simply put, was one of the best players in the NWJHL last season. As a grinder, that is incredibly tough to do. She is does not rely on flash or razzle dazzle to her game. She is an old school player in a new school league but that doesn’t stop her from getting her fair share of recognition. And the Steelhawks gave her that recognition by using the 10th overall pick in the Season 7 draft to take her. And many think they were lucky that she was still on the board at #10. She very easily could have and should have been a top 5 pick in the draft. As a grinder, she put up outstanding numbers in the NWJHL. She lit the lamp 12 times and had 27 assists for a remarkable 39 points in 40 games played. Even more, she posted a ridiculous +23. She tallied 122 hits and was good for a 58.33% win percentage at the face off circle. She will be a huge asset to a Hamilton Steelhawks team looking to make the playoffs and push their way up the standings.
The lines for the young Steelhawks team are yet to be decided but if both Wissink and Rose end up on a line together opposing teams better beware. It will be the line of death because there will be very few goals scored on them. The Steelhawks camp are excpecting big things out of the rookie Rose and Wissink. The Bash Brothers of the Hamilton Steelhawks will make for a memorable season 7 of the SHL.
The Bash Brothers, Wissink (left) and Rose (right), are ready to take on all comers this season and leading the fight for the Steelhawks to earn a playoff berth.
 Awesome article! Between Rose and I, we're gonna destroy all comers. I suspect my point totals are going to improve greatly this season as well, given how much training I've done.
Andren Akerson (Present)
Adrik Baranov (S55 to S70)
Rurik Razin (S32 to S44)
Roy Razin (S17 to S32) (HOF/Rage HOF)
Audun Wissink (S5 to S15)

Except we're forwards and they're defense...
Good job Timmy! Expect us to shut down all the other teams!
No, seriously. When Vancouver was called the Ice Wolves back in S3-S4, Jon Maxfield and Scott Stevens called themselves the "Bash Brothers". For these circumstances, the S7 "Bash Brothers" are Stevens-Maxfield posers
