80. (S20) G (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Jakob Tanner || -19
Grade: 13/20
Past Seasons: S22-94, S23-61

Jakob Tanner has fallen quite a bit since last rankings, despite a good season with 27 wins, a .905 save percentage, and a very good playoff run where he posted a .914 save percentage and 2.14 GAA. So what happened? Some voters may have been confused as Jakobsen was on fire for the Steelhawks that year, but that does not excuse his ranking to be this low. Tanner clearly will have an axe to grind with this list in season 24, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had a great season to follow.

79. (S20) RW (Edmonton Blizard)- Mark Longford || New Entry
Grade: 13/20
Past Seasons: None

At number 79 is newcomer Mark Longford, a member of the S20 superdraft. Longford took a couple years to get on this list, but finally, he was able to do it with a breakout 35 point campaign which saw him score 17 goals for the Blizzard. He was a great depth player for a stacked Edmonton team which finally caused the voters to take notice. This guy has a lot of potential and while he may be considered a late bloomer by some voters, it is unlikely he will be knocked off this list any time soon.

78. (S15) LW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Arthur Grosberg || +18
Grade: 13/20
Past Seasons: S20 - 90, S21 - 59, S22 - 69, S23-96

At numb 78 is Arthur Grosberg, a winger who has started to come back a little after a disappointing S22 season where he only scored 27 points, a low for him. He immediately went back to scoring in S23, potting 17 goals and 35 points on the season for the Steelhawks, which was a big factor in them becoming a contender again. He may be a little lower on the depth chart than some players (only played 18 minutes a night last year), but he still has a lot of talent to show off.

77. (S21) RW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Theo Kane || -2
Grade: 13/20
Past Seasons: S23-75

At number 77 is S21 draftee Theo Kane, who took a slight step back from last year, despite scoring 19 goals and 16 more points than the season prior. Why? I spoke with some voters who talked about an attitude problem, but this seems like justification for not wanting to give some of the young guns credit. Some talked about his playoff numbers, but in a deep run the younger players are unlikely to play as well as the veterans. Who knows the reason behind him not improving despite last season, but I will be surprised if he is lower than top 40 next year.

76. (S21) D (Minnesota Chiefs) - Alonzo Garbanzo || -17
Grade: 13/20
Past Seasons: S23-59

At 76 is another S21 draftee, who unlike Theo Kane, deserves his place after a lackluster season which saw him once again finish under 30 points and 4th on the depth chart in Minnesota. Despite being named captain, the young defenseman has been unable to lead by example and has failed to improve enough to earn a higher spot on the list, and for good reason. Garbanzo appears to be a resilient player, so he will be working even harder, but his talent may not be enough to become an offensive threat.

75. (S19) C (Texas Renegades) - Liam Kinsler || New Entry
Grade: 13/20
Past Seasons: None

At number 75 is Liam Kinsler, a newcomer from the Texas Renegades. The center spent a few of his earlier years as a depth player with little offensive support, but was able to break through in S23 with 11 goals and 32 points on the season, a critical part of a Texas team that has been unable to get back to their championship ways. He was also incredible on the draw, winning 53% of the facoffs he took. A slow starter, for sure, but Kinsler is starting to creep up in this list and there is no way to know how far he can climb.

74. (S18) C (Edmonton Blizzard) - Miles Berger || +25
Grade: 13/20
Past Seasons: S21-85, S23-99

At number 74 is another center, the Blizzard's own Miles Berger. After getting back on the list last season, Berger continues to impress as he had a great 36 point regular season followed by a 16 point playoff run all the way to the finals. Berger spent a little time off the radar and some thought he might be a bust, but he has come back stronger than ever and could turn into the star the Blizzard expect out of him. That's as long as he keeps training, of course.

73. (S20) D (New England Wolfpack) - Benjamin Reid || -7
Grade: 14/20
Past Seasons: S22-90, S23-66

Benjamin Reid comes it at number 73, and this is a season where Reid will probably go back and tell you that he could have been better. He did not reach his previous season's point total, finishing at 31 points (respectable, but not based on his standards), and only 7 points in 19 playoff games. Reid still continues to train and is an important piece of the Wolfpack despite their current rebuilding period, and should hopefully be a centerpiece of a new Wolfpack future once the rebuild is complete. They will be relying on him more than ever now.

72. (S18) C (Seattle Riot) Thomas King || -22
Grade: 14/20
Past Seasons: S20-65, S21-44, S22-38, S23-50

At 72 is Thomas King, a Riot center who followed up an impressive 45 point season with a disappointing 34 point season. Not bad for a lot of players, but Thomas King isn't a lot of players. This is a former top-40 player and top-20 center we are talking about. Despite the offensive woes he remained solid on the dot, winning 56% of the 800 faceoffs he took, and was a stable defensive presence with a +3 on the saeson while teammates were in the double digits in the minus column.

71. (S17) C (Minnesota Chiefs) Chico Salmon || -34
Grade: 14/20
Past Seasons: S20- 43, S21-20, S22-24, S23-37

Dropping back a great deal on the list to 71 is Chico Salmon, a former Texas Renegade who saw his point totals drop from the 40s to 30 on the nose. This dip in production was a factor in the Renegades not competing for the Western Conference title, and subsequently caused him to look for a different environment to reinvigorate his game. He was very good in the playoffs scoring 8 points in 7 games, so we don't expect he will repeat his 30 point performance with Minnesota, a team that has added multiple free agents over the offseason. If he has another 40+ point season next year, he could go right back into the top-40, even the top-30 depending on how well he does.
