RANDY RANDLEMAN SCOUTING REPORT </div>

Hello and welcome to the first edition of the Kelowna Impressions Agency Scouting Report, and who better to be first than former 1st overall selection by the Calgary Dragons, left winger Randy Randleman! Randy (also known as Rando) has been the top of the S24 class since he stormed the league and has kept up his performance in his first send down season with the local Knights. Let's see what type of winger Calgary will be calling up next season:

At the top of his game, Randleman is head and shoulders above his minor league peers. A dominant forward, Rando makes his money in the slot, shooting pucks and ringing posts for buzzer beaters and goals. 24 of them. That's almost a goal every other game, which is remarkable for any player. This shows that Randleman is nearing his end in the Knights locker room as a player, but it seems like the Knights will love him as a veteran leader coming in on off days from Calgary. When Rando does head up to the Dragons, he has some leeway in what he can work on with more experienced players. KIA Scouting looked at Calgary's roster and coaching and has given a solid projection for what Randleman will look like once he starts training camp for his rookie SHL season:

There has been one glaring hole in what is considered the prototype for an offensive forward, and that is the passing game. Working with forwards like former Detroit Falcon Esa Anrikkanen will give Randleman more ability to become a point scorer from both the goal and assist column. 24 goals and 23 assists in the regular season of the SMJHL shows that Randleman has become topped out in his ability to produce offensively in the minors and needs to improve his passing game to compete with the competitive Western Conference. Equal time spent into more shooting practice gives Randleman his goals, but gives Calgary more production from a dynasty core player at the same time.

The left winger playing for the United Kingdom has been a great selection from the start for Calgary, who also picked up the coveted Vancouver Whalers prospect Vincent Leon Anze Draisaitl McZerhl in the S24 SHL Draft. The Dragons will be spoiled with shots from the top 2 shot takers of the most recent SMJHL season, with VLAD McZerhl coming in 1st and Randy coming in 2nd. Unfortunately, neither of these palyers are in the top 10 in shot %, which happens when you post 200+ shots. The passing game Rando is projected to become better in will reduce Rando's shot totals, which might improve his shot percentage, helping Calgary and Rando's linemates in the plus/minus department.

Looking to next season, Randleman seems to be poised for a top 9 forward position on a roster with some great top-end talent in Roberts Birkavs and Esa Anrikkanen but is looking to the younger generation like Schnitinfritz Jagr and McZerhl. Rando - Jagr - McZerhl actually looks to be a fantastic core forward line that could become dominant in the next few seasons with the development of each player. Hopefully Calgary gets great return on the investment that is the 1st overall selection. Randleman has been seen all around Kelowna and has turned a small British Columbian town into a hot spot of club activity, Wolfpack meetings, and other crazy events. If he keeps this up, Randleman's connections will be so great that Calgary will have a natural pipeline from Kelowna straight to the Dragons, a valuable asset for any SHL GM. The rookies out of Kelowna have been a success and with guys like Randleman in the locker room, the prospects will only get better.

Many have said that Randleman can only score with his current player build and style of play on ice. Familiar things were said early on in one Chernika Banananov's career. Originally a laser shot sniper with no other skills whatsoever, Chernika has worked to becoming a great talent on the right wing, passing, skating, and even checking back on defense for the Minnesota club. Randleman looks to be headed in the same trajectory, improving his other skills to compliment his amazing shot.

Randleman shocked the SHL world by becoming a number one draft selection, being placed into an eternal brotherhood with recent members like Tommy Creller, David Benson, and Chuck Goody, but with recent bust Mariusz Kwik also having been selected 1st overall, it is up to the Calgary Dragons to help this winger become a great and not a bust. KIA Scouting feels that they have a winner in their eyes due to Randleman's constant presence in the hockey community. If Rando keeps it up, we may see a future All-Star coming from the Dragons soon. Only time will tell if Rando is a zero or a hero for the Alberta franchise.
