However Moosejaw Boudreau would take a hooking penalty 5 minutes into the game, and a minute later the Dragons would make him pay with the first goal of the game from Jaime Hill. Hunter Wong and Jackson Weekes would shut the door up until the final minute of the game, where Adrian Thomaz would score two goals within the last minute to give Los Angeles the lead going into the second. Assists were by Jigsaw McGraw (2), Jhonas Skarsgaard and Chris Johnson. The second period saw the defense tighten up, with both teams looking for a weakness but not finding one. The second would end as the first did, 2-1 Los Angeles. The third saw Calgary desperately try to gain some offense, but could not do it as the Panthers would win game one of the series. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 2</div> The first period was a much different affair than last game, as Los Angeles put the pedal to the metal early. They would not be finished, however, as Jorma Ruutu would score his first from Kwik and Johnson with 5 minutes to go, giving them a 3-0 lead after one. They would dominate the Dragons in the second period, outshooting them 17-7, and Brian Morley would pot his first of the series from Pedersen to give the Panthers a 4-0 lead. They would put themselves up 3-0 midway in the second when Asbjorn Alexandersen scored from Gautheir and Gustafsson, and would keep that lead going into the third period. Winnipeg looked to be making a comeback push at the 2 minute mark when Terry Bullis scored from Manius and Hackert to cut the lead to two, but only mustered three shots on net in the third period, giving the Renegades a 3-1 victory to tie the series up. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 3</div> Texas Came out with a solid effort early in the first period, as Logan Valentine would score his first of the series from Gustafsson and Alexandersen to take a 1-0 lead. Winnipeg started the second period off on the right foot, as Drew Myers scored his first from Onoprienko and Elyk during a powerplay to tie the game up at one after 40 minutes. The Jets would then take advantage of almost every opportunity in the third period. Taylor McDavid scored a powerplay goal from Onoprienko to take the lead, and Emils Vilmenietis would score an empty netter to seal it from McDavid and Ravchitikov. The Jets would now have a 2-1 lead going into game 4. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 4</div> The first period saw both teams start to feel each other out, with not a lot of shots going either way. The first came from Oliver Pettyfer (Horvat) and the second came from Alexandre Daigle (Valentine, Lahey). The Renegades would bring it offensively in the second period and add another goal late in the frame when Liam Kinsler scored from Knight and Daigle to take a 3-0 lead with 20 minutes to go. Taylor McDavid of the Jets would try to make it a hockey game early in the third period from Onoprienko and Hackert, but Asbjorn Alexandersen of Texas would add an insurance marker late from Valentine and Lahey to remove all doubt, giving the Renegades their first series lead. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 6</div> Winnipeg unloaded on Texas in the start of game 6, outshooting the Renegades 18-2. They would score ten seconds later when Chico Salmon scored from Chernika Banananov. They would add to their lead four minutes later when Lionel Byrde scored from Jarkko Kallestrom and Alonzo Garbanzo. However the North Stars would finally get on the board when Azriel Stryfe scored from Chester Cunningham and Darian Scherbluk to cut the lead to two. The second period featured even more scoring despite the low shots. Toronto cut the lead down to one when Pierre-Luc Laflamme scored from David Benson and Lukas Johnson at the 9 minute mark. Late in the period Chernika Banananov would score from Walter White and Rufus Reinhart. However Toronto would respond again when John Luther scored at the 19:33 mark of the second period from Toki Wartooth and Nazar Nichushkin to keep the lead to only one after two periods. The third period saw once again very little offense, and with time running out it looked like the Chiefs would take this one in regulation. However Azriel Stryfe would score his second of the game with one minute remaining in the game from Kristian Eriksson to send this one to overtime. 5 minutes into the first overtime would see Toronto complete their comeback when Kristian Eriksson scored from Chester Cunningham and John Luther to take away home ice advantage from the Chiefs. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 2</div> The first period started just as it did in game one, with Minnesota scoring. Magnus Jakobsen would start it off from Sarantez and Salmon, Cant would add another 30 seconds later from Stryker and Kallestrom, and Salmon would score his second of the series from Banananov a few minutes later to take another 3-0 lead. Willie Weber of Toronto would cut into that lead later in the period from Scherbluk, and the first period ended 3-1 in favor of Minnesota. The second period saw some push from Toronto, but no scoring, and the Chiefs locked down the third to take a 3-1 win and tie the series at one. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 3</div> Minnesota dominated the first period in game three, knowing that they needed to get an early lead in Toronto's building. However, the North Stars, despite their lack of offense, would score the first and only goal of the period when Toki Wartooth scored from Luther. The second period was more of the same in terms of shots, as Minnesota continued to pepper Mark Harter. However Toronto would again take advantage of their shots. Alexander Kjaerberg would score from Benson and Stryfe midway in the period, and David Benson would add a goal of his own from Laflamme and Scherbluk to give the North Stars a 3-0 lead after two periods. Minnesota again was all over Harter and the North Stars in the third, but could not convert, as the North Stars took the game and a 2-1 lead in the series. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 4</div> Minnesota was again dominant in the shot department, and was able to take the lead thirty seconds into the game when Rufus Reinhart scored his first of the series from Banananov and Jakobsen. The North Stars would not be denied despite their low number of shots, as John Luther scored his second of the series from Cunningham to tie the game 1-1 after the first period. The second period was much more even, and the North Stars scored the go-ahead goal with an Eriksson shot from Cunningham. Jarkko Kallestrom would tie the game up on a powerplay from Sawyer and Garbanzo, but Luka Zaitsev of the Stars would retake the lead from Luther and Barbashev giving the North Stars a 3-2 lead after two. The third was once again all Minnesota, and they tie the game early when Kallestrom scored his second of the night from Sawyer and Garbanzo. They would continue to throw shots on Harter, but could not convert as the game would go to its second overtime of the series. In overtime, the Chiefs again outshot the North Stars, but Harter stood strong until late in the frame when Pierre-Luc Laflamme would get an opening in the slot to be the hero and give the North Stars a chance to win the series in Minnesota for game 5. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 5</div> Minnesota was all over Toronto in the first period, outshooting them 13-4. Their hard work would pay off early when Tom Sawyer scored from Kallestrom and Stryker to take the 1-0 lead after the first. The second was full of offensive opportunities, starting with the North Stars. Willie Weber scored his second of the series from Benson and Laflamme to tie the game ten seconds into the second period. The Chiefs would respond on a powerplay goal of their own 93 seconds later when Mr. Feeny scored from Jakobsen and Garbanzo. They would add to their lead when Chico Salmon scored 6 minutes later from Byrde and Garbanzo. David Benson would score for Toronto a few minutes later from Kjaerberg and Scherbluk to cut into the lead, but Minnesota answered back when Pedro Sarantez scored his first of the series from Banananov and Salmon to put Minnesota up 4-2 after two periods. The third period had even more offensive chances, but the offense didn't come until Alonzo Garbanzo scored his first on the powerplay from Feeny and Stryker at the 11 minute mark to take a 5-2 lead. Chester Cunningham would score for Toronto with time running out, but it was too little too late and the Chiefs would survive another day. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 6</div> Game six was a defensive battle between the two clubs, with Toronto getting the lead in the first period when Kristian Eriksson scored from Schenn and Scherbluk. They would hold that lead through the end of the first and the second period, outshooting the Chiefs along the way. However Minnesota found a second gear in the third period, putting 14 shots on Harter and finally breaking through at the 7 minute mark when Ryan Sullivan scored his first goal from Sawyer and Stryker to tie the game and give us another overtime in game 6. Midway in overtime the Chiefs were able to capitalize on an errant penalty by Kjaerberg and Tom Sawyer put one home from Byrde and Kallestrom, keeping the Chiefs alive and forcing a game 7 in Minnesota. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 7</div> With the game on the line, the North Stars vowed they would not allow the collapse to be completed. They fired 12 shots on Ranjan, however neither team would score until late in the first when Pedro Sarantez scored from Kallestrom and Sawyer to put Minnesota ahead by one after the first. The second period was all Toronto again, but this time they kept Minnesota to a single shot on net. However, like in the first, they could not get the puck past Ranjan, and the Cheifs kept the 1-0 lead going into the third period. The third was full of offense. Minnesota, like in the previous games, took over in the third period, and Magnus Jakobsen scored a big 2-0 goal early in the period from Reinhart and Sullivan. Toronto would answer back 2 minutes later when Scherbluk scored his first from Eriksson and Cunningham. The Chiefs and Stars began trading chances, but neither could convert. However Magnus Jakobsen was able to break through again from Garbanzo to give Minnesota their insurance marker late. Darian Scherbluk would score again from Laflamme with one minute to go, but the North Stars were unable to score again. Minnesota held on to complete the 1-3 comeback and take the series in 7. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center"> ![]() ![]() (2) Hamilton Steelhawks VS. (3) Manhattan Rage Steelhawks Win 4-2</div> <div align="center">Game 1</div> Manhattan and Hamilton went back and forth in the first period in offensive opportunities, and the goals soon followed. Early on David Webb scored from DuJardin and Clitsome for Hamilton to take the 1-0 lead, however 4 minutes later Manhattan would respond with a Mikhail Krivokrasov goal from Ludvigsen to tie it up. Hamilton came right back a minute later with a Griffin Simons goal from Hauke and Muerto to take the lead. Manhattan would not be denied, though, as they scored three unanswered goals from Roy Razin (Stinson, Ochocinco), Jamie Hawkins (Creller, Goody), and Daniel Merica (Stinson, Hawkins) to take a 4-2 lead after the first period. The second period was a bloodbath, as Hamilton outshot the Rage 20-2 and scored 4 goals to retake the lead. Riko Muerto would score all four goals in this period, with assists from Griffon Simons (4), Claude Perron, and Jakob Tanner. The third period felt like more of the same when Hamilton scored early from Franklin Trey, and Manhattan could only muster a single goal in response when Tommy Creller scored. But by then the game was long over for the Rage. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 2</div> The chances continued to pile up for both teams in this first period, but the goals did not come as easily as they did in game one. Hamilton scored first once again as Griffin Simons scored his second of the playoffs from Hauke and Muerto on the powerplay. Manhattan would respond late with a goal from Tommy Creller from Merica and Drake to tie it up after one period. The second period was a complete reversal of the second period of game one, as the Rage outshot the Steelhawks 19-3. However Jakob Tanner was almost unstoppable, only allowing one goal when Simon Palat scored late on the powerplay from Krivokrasov and Goody, keeping the game 2-1 for the Rage. The third period saw some chances, but not much that James or Tanner could not handle. Hamilton was able to tie the game at the 8 minute mark when Tyler Stropko scored his first from Muerto and Nuck, and after that the goals stopped coming and the game went to overtime. The overtime period went off slowly until Bubba Nuck took an undisciplined tripping penalty, which in turn gave Daniel Merica a golden opportunity where he scored to tie the series off an overtime wrist shot from Simon Palat. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 3</div> The first period was pretty even through the game, but the Rage would get an early goal from Daniel Merica, with assists from Stinson and Creller to give the Rage a 1-0 lead after one period. The second period was all Manhattan, however. With 22 shots on Tanner, the Steelhawks could not contain them as Thor Ludvigsen (Goody, Palat) and Roy Razin (Merica, Stinson) would each score a goal to give the Rage a 3-0 lead. The third period was once again all Manhattan, as they outshot the Steelhawks 21-5 and kept the period scoreless to take an easy 3-0 win and a 2-1 lead in the series. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 4</div> The Steelhawks wanted to tie the series in this one, playing well early on when Vuro Vlaters scored his first of the series from Simons and Perron to take the 1-0 lead. Manhattan would respond on a powerplay near the 11 minute mark with Tommy Creller, from Merica and Razin to tie the game after one period. The Rage took it to Hamilton and Tanner, getting a goal on the powerplay from Simon Palat from Ludvigsen and Krivokrasov, then another from Krivokrasov from Ochocinco and Razin to take a 3-1 lead after two periods. Manhattan would add to their lead in the third with another powerplay goal from Barney Stinson from Razin and Krivokrasov, giving the Rage a 4-1 lead early in the third period. But 13 seconds later Griffin Simons did his best to make sure it would not stand, scoring his third of the series from Hauke and Stropko. Arthur Grosberg would score 26 seconds after that, making it a one goal game. They would tie it at the 15 minute mark of the third when Griffin Simons scored his fourth of the series from Hauke, forcing overtime and a potential comeback. Griffin Simons ensured the comeback would be completed halfway through the first overtime when he got a feed from Bubba Nuck to win the game 5-4 and tie the series up at 2 a piece. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 5</div> Manhattan put the pressure on the Steelhawks in the first period, but Tanner remained tall and his teammates would start the scoring. Michael J Caboose would score his first midway in the period from Hauke and Muerto and Hamilton would start with a 1-0 lead going into the second period. Hamilton scored again 30 seconds into the second with yet another Griffin Simons goal from Hauke and Muerto. Manhattan would finally crack Tanner midway in the frame when Ochocinco scored from Arrowny and James to cut the lead to one going into the third. The Rage would tie the game up early in the third with Ochocinco getting on the board again from Razin and James. The defense stood tall, and we were headed for another overtime thriller. The Steelhawks managed to pull through yet again late in overtime when Clitsome scored from Stropko and Webb, giving them a chance to take the series in six games. <div align="center"> ![]() <div align="center">Game 6</div> Hamilton was able to keep Manhattan to the outside in the first period, and at the 13 minute mark opened the scoring with Janis Krumins from Muerto and DuJardin. They would take a 1-0 lead going into the second, where they added another goal as Vuro Vlaters scored from Krumins and Trey, giving them a 2-0 lead going into the third. Manhattan broke through on the shot clock, putting 13 shots on Tanner, but could not convert until a powerplay at the 15 minute mark when Palat scored from Drake and Goody to pull to within one. They would not score again, however, and Rider Clitsome would add an empty netter to give the Steelhawks the decisive win and beat Manhattan, a team who beat them in the first round last year, in six games. <div align="center"> ![]() 4075 Words ![]() Registered S27, S29, S32 Challenge Cup Champion
