Idea: Removing Management Cap
#1

I was thinking that it doesn't seem like it gets used as it's intended. Quick plan I was thinking:

S32: No changes

S33:
- Management cap turns into cap space. (65m -> 70m)
- Reduce cap by 2m (70m -> 68m)
- Players with management in contract have option to apply management into their contract or take it out. By default it will be kept in (3m contract + 1m management -> 4m contract)

S34:
- Reduce cap by 2m (68m -> 66m)

Wanted to run it by you guys. Pros, cons, death threats. Bring it on. For now I'm going to watch Walking Dead before Allen requests anything else. Ninja

I like it, personally. Never understood the point of management.

Either that or limit management to a certain amount per person who receives it?

Yup. It isn't used for someone who does managerial work but rather a way to add 5 mill of cap so you can sign players.

If nothing else, absorb it into the cap. It's silly to have it as a separate thing when it's never used for anything but tacking on more to a contract.

The management fund has always been misused. Its supposed to be there to promote jobs amongst the team such as hiring a team member to make graphics for the team or do some scouting reports or something like that.

It was never supposed to be contract bonuses. Just remove the ability to add it as a contract bonus and go back to its original intent. Make teams assign jobs and reward members for completing them. Encourage activity and promote more members getting involved in team operations.

Yeah but who's gonna watch over the people with these new "jobs" to ensure that they are actually doing the jobs? There's plenty of loopholes you could do still with bringing it back to it's intended purpose.

Tbh more cap isn't a bad thing. Can only mean more active members since according to some people it's hard enough to make an elite player already.

I understand. But If you start with management budget can not be added on to a player contract. And can not be given to a GM or co-GM. Then it's a step in the right direction. Now a team has to dish it out later on to nonGMs on their team not as part of their contracts or original budget.

Its not impossible to loophole but it's more difficult and still a step in the right direction to get back to having GMs actually promote jobs in their organization.

Very few GMs and Co-GMs even get the management budget, there are more focused on giving more contract money to their players so they can train. Making it so that it isn't contract money just doesn't do anything to fix the problem that management is just a way to give more money to your players.

I would be opposed to any cap reduction. Either keep what we have now, 65M + 5M management bonus or make the cap straight 70M with no management bonus. No reason to reduce the cap. Most players already take pay cuts to stay with their teams and it's still hard to get everyone under the cap (unless your in a rebuild or expansion). Also when we have deep drafts, that takes up more cap space, so I would not want to see it any lower than it is now.

Plz do not lower the cap. thanks.
