Reed Laing with Portland On the Portland Admirals
After recently buying out Reed Laing, Portland seem to be wanting to spend the extra money they save from the buyout on top tier veteran forwards, players such as Pedro Sarantez, whom the Admirals acquired contract rights of. Why? Well, Portland does not want to be a bottom feeder anymore, they are going to go for the playoffs.
On the Edmonton Blizzard
Despite Pedro Sarantez being a player who was bound to leave in Free Agency, the Blizzard were heavily criticized for this move. Sarantez was a significant presence in the locker room, and many believe that the Blizzard could have aquired more for Sarantez if they had waited.
On the Los Angeles Panthers
Panthers prospect Brandon Gauthier is concerned about his future with the Los Angeles Panthers. His agent has stated that the Panthers have not placed an offer on the table yet, and Gauthier is worried about his future with the Panthers.
On the Toronto North Stars
Speaking of Brandon Gauthier, there have been reports that the North Stars are considering bringing back the young forward, who they had released last offseason.
The North Stars and their starting goaltender, Mark Harter, who is a pending UFA, will be parting ways this offseason, reported by the player himself. Harter stated earlier this week that if no teams are interested in signing the goaltender, he will retire from the game.
Speaking of goaltender, with the departure of Mark Harter, Jeff Kirkstone will be ready to take over in net as the starter for next season.
On the Minnesota Chiefs
Reed Laing stated earlier on this month, that the Chiefs were a top destination for the player if he was bought out… which he was. Although that was the case, there is speculation that the Chiefs and Laing will not be coming to an agreement over a contract, though unsure which party was the cause of this.

Leafer Reilly on the Knights waiting for a pass On the Kelowna Knights
A Kelowna Knights alumni member was approached by the Halifax Raiders about an open co-gm position on the Raiders earlier this week. The players response? “"naaahhhh... I'd lose my Knights LR.â€
The Knights will likely lose their top forwards in Horvat and Knouse this offseason to their perspective SHL teams, and Leafer Reilly and John Langabeer will likely be called up for the S35 season, and there is possibility that the Chiefs call up Halfdan Thorstein in the offseason
Knights GM Jenny was rumoured to have been offered a Co-GM position in New England, but turned it down. “I don’t wanna leave my babies in Kelowna†was probably why she had done so.
On the Colorado Mammoths
A few players are unhappy with Colorado, and there is speculation that a Mammoths defenseman requested a trade. The player feels that the Mammoths LR does not suit him well, and he does not fit in with the team.
On the Halifax Raiders
The Halifax Raiders have been searching for a goaltender, and they will be looking to acquire one this draft. There have been reports that the Raiders have contacted prospect Aleksandr Aleksandrov about joining the Raiders.
