Hey everyone! I've been meaning to do one of these for quite a while and never got around to it. With playoffs underway right now and the Platoon evidently not being in them, figured it was as good a time as any to try and earn a bit of dough!

For those who don't know me, I've been around for almost 5 years now and have been a GM of the platoon for about 4 of those 5 years. Its starting to feel like forever ago and so much has changed since. I thought this would be a great opportunity to take some questions about the league or team over the years and answer them as best as I can.

Anyways, ask away! (Almost) nothing is off-limits!

That's a tough one because there are quite a few teams in the league I'd probably like to be a part of but for different reasons. I will say though one of the teams that has interested me the most has been Manhattan. I have a lot of friends over there and one of my best friends on the site just recently got promoted to their CO GM position. I think it's an LR I'd probably fit into very easily given the connections I've always had. At the same time it would be cool because I've never actually shared an LR with a lot of the people on MAN that I know.

A big one I thought might be explored that hasn't is Gretzky's office. You'd figure with a role name that includes the great one himself it'd be worth building towards, but it doesn't seem like anyone really gives it a shake. I know on our part we really don't have the players that fit the mold but I'm sure someone around the league could make use of it.

It's hard to say no to this one. The guy's been insane in recent seasons. Even this season he lead the league in scoring and showed no signs of slowing down.

I'm not exactly scheduled yet as the rollout has been relatively slow in my area, but my city expects to have enough to vaccinate everyone by the summer, so my best guess is probably april-june at the earliest and july-august at the latest.

Bestia and chestia both have their place in the world. a nice big Bestia is nice to look at and gives you something to hang on to. The chestia though is a lot of fun in the moment and brings it's own perks.

I've played quite a few over the years but the one that really really hooked me was FFXIV. That said, it took me a LONNNGGG time to get into it. mostly because the game only really starts after like 100+ hours... but once I got there, I got hooked pretty hard. Something about the raids I felt was really top notch compared to some other games. It's very actively engaging, if that makes any sense.

This is a tough one... There are a few that immediately stand out to mind, but I think my favorite just because of how well it worked out for both teams involved would be the Mikko Linna - Danni Forsberg trade. it was a 1 for 1 deal in which both players proceeded to win at least 1 cup with their new team in the following seasons. Both Forsberg and Linna went on to be prolific players for both CGY and WKP for a good while before retiring as well. I know forsberg was essentially the most talented forward WKP has ever had, even though he didn't have the tenure to set records like Alex Light did.

I'm gonna answer this one in a weird way, as in my favorite trade that almost happened that I'm glad didn't happen. In the S55 draft we had picks 6, 20 and 28. well when pick 28 rolled around we got a PM from LAP looking to swap the pick, and they were quite adamant about doing so. they really wanted that pick and after talking to them, it was because they knew we would draft the player they wanted. In the end we decided to keep the pick and draft Daniil Nikiforov 28th overall. Since then Nikiforov has been one of our brightest and most consistent presence in the LR and has risen the ranks all the way to the top 15 of his class. he's on pace to hit 2K TPE and is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. I couldn't be happier that we kept the pick because we got one hell of a person and player out of it.

I think the salary cap will help but it's only one part of the equation. GMs need to learn what it takes to win in FHM and need to have a solid plan to amass not just the right quantity of assets, but quality as well. I think the salary cap will help push us towards parity, but we'll see the big changes once all the current and upcoming rebuilding teams figure out exactly what needs to be done to get back to winning form in an FHM league. That said, I think this is going to be a long process and we likely won't start seeing real results until closer to the S70s.

Honestly, that's a loaded question and a tough one to answer on the spot. My biggest concerns with the league are mostly being worked on as is like an index and milestones.

It's a little hard to predict where other teams are going to be in a few seasons, not knowing every team's internal plans. that said given the current state of the league and what it currently takes to make the playoffs, I can see us getting there sometime in the early S60s. We definitely won't be there in the next 2 seasons, but depending on how things go I could see us making a push during the S60 season. we won't be a top team by any means, but I do think we'll at least be competitive enough to fight for a playoff spot, even if we don't end up getting in.

Really it has nothing to do with Sweden at all. There were just a lot of people in the czechia team I've kinda always wanted to share an LR with and never had a chance to. I have some really close friends there and before recreating I didn't really know they were even there tbh. Had I known, I probably would've just created czech to avoid this whole situation. Sweden was nothing but great to me and they're on an amazing trajectory. They'll be a top team soon for sure, with or without me.

haha I've got a good answer for you...because I was trying to trade it for someone else. During the draft someone I wanted went earlier than Norm did and we were trying very hard to get a deal done for that person even during the draft. In the end, that deal not happening ended up being one of the best things that's ever happened to the Platoon as Nat has been far and away our premier member and player for a long while. And he's got gas in the tank still to go!

I can't remember exactly what season it was, but we were 1st in the league by quite a bit and showed no signs of slowing down. In an effort to maintain that into the playoffs we added WannabeFinn's retiring player to the team. I can't remember the type totals, but it was an upgrade of several hundred TPE over our 3rd line C at the time. We went on to lose almost every single game after the trade deadline, only to beat buffalo in round 1 of the playoffs. e then got shitstomped by whoever we played in the next round and were yeeted into the offseason.

I'm kinda losing motivation to answer so imma go ahead and reduce your question to 1 per lol.

Favourite moment: Probably winning our first cup in S41. WKP had been a team so close for so long and I was really really happy to be able to help push them over the edge.

Bottom moment: The early S50s rebuild, by far. It's no secret I screwed the pooch on the start of the rebuild in more ways than one, which resulted in us having to re-kickstart said rebuild. There's a lot I would do differently if I could do it again but now I can only take that as a learning experience to move forward and do better.
