I didn't mind Cole World. It has some real good songs (i.e. Lost Ones and Gods Gift), but it was too poppy and it was almost like he sold out for the mainstream world which is understandable because he gettin paper. However having listened to Friday Night Lights a lot and then going to Cole World, I can see a regression

Beyond Kendrick though, isn't that pretty much every popular rapper nowadays?

depends on what you define as popular. Someone like Big Krit still stuck to his formula. Even if they did take the mainstream route, there are small differences between previous work, this took a big leap into the mainstream and left some of the goodies of J Cole out of the picture.

Krit only sold 83k albums total though. I'm talking popular like they actually move records pretty well.

Oh and fwiw, Rihanna's new album which drops later this month has both an Eminem feature ("Numb") and a Chris Brown feature ("Nobodies Business").

I think J Cole sucks tbh.

83k as of 3 months ago. Still decent. But ya I don't like a lot of mainstream artists except Cole and Kendrick and Nas who didn't have to be to mainstream to make a sick album

Haven't checked it out, but it's a mixtape by Jahlil Beats, Dylan's boy.
